2019/20 A-League Round 3 Preview

Brisbane Roar vs Melbourne Victory – Suncorp Stadium

Brisbane Roar ($3.4)

Melbourne Victory ($2.35)

Draw ($3.6)

Melbourne Victory are still seeking their first win of the season as they travel to Brisbane Roar. It’s all change at Victory who start a new era following Kevin Muscat’s successful reign at the club as Marco Kurz steps into the hot seat following an esteemed spell in charge of Adelaide United. They struggled for rhythm against Melbourne City before a disappointing home loss to WSW last time out. Brisbane Roar meanwhile will be refreshed following a week off and Robbie Fowler’s men will be looking to build on their impressive opening day point at Perth Glory. This should be a tight game that could well end up honours even.

Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw and both teams to score ($4.55) Bet Now

1-1 Draw

Newcastle Jets vs Adelaide United – McDonald Jones Stadium

Newcastle Jets ($2.5)

Adelaide United ($3)

Draw ($3.5)

Newcastle Jets play their first home game of the campaign as they welcome winless Adelaide United to town. The Jets have endured another summer of change but they look well set to make an assault on the play-offs this term. With the likes of Wes Hoolahan in their ranks, they have plenty of top level experience and they should mount a sustained challenge this term despite an uninspiring performance at Central Coast last week. Gertjan Verbeek has made a tough start to life as the new man in charge at Adelaide. With two defeats from his opening two games, the problems are mounting but they look to have plenty of fire power in their ranks and could well trouble the Newcastle Jets here. This should be a tight game between two good sides that could well end up all square.

Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.5) Bet Now

2-2 Draw

Western Sydney Wanderers vs Sydney FC – Bankwest Stadium

WSW ($2.9)

Sydney FC ($2.45)

Draw ($3.55)

The league’s top two side’s face off at the Bankwest Stadium as Sydney FC travel across town to take on WSW. With 2-1 wins against Central Coast and Melbourne Victory, WSW have started the season in style and they will be all too aware of the magnitude facing them here on Saturday. Sydney FC will also be looking to maintain their winning start to the season with the Blues having picked up hard fought wins against Adelaide United and Wellington Phoenix from their opening two fixtures. This should be an excellent spectacle which Sydney should well prevail from to maintain their 100% record this term.

Betting tip: Sydney FC to win the match ($2.45) Bet Now

Sydney FC to win 2-1

Wellington Phoenix vs Perth Glory – Wellington Regional Stadium

Wellington Phoenix ($3.6)

Perth Glory ($2.2)

Draw ($3.6)

Wooden spoon favourites Wellington Phoenix welcome last season’s league leaders Perth Glory to town on Sunday. Phoenix have had their squad decimated through players moving to other clubs in the winter and are still looking for their first points of the season under new manager Ufuk Talay Last season’s league champions Perth Glory will be looking for their first win of the campaign too following disappointing draws so far against Brisbane Roar and Western United. Tony Popovic’s men blitzed the league last season and they will be all too aware of the need to start picking up points quickly. Wellington will make this difficult for Perth but the Glory should be way too strong for them here.

Betting tip: Perth Glory to win the match and both teams to score ($3.8) Bet Now

Perth Glory to win 3-1

Western United vs Melbourne City – GMHBA

Western United ($2.38)

Melbourne City ($3.3)

Draw ($3.5)

Western United host Melbourne City in the biggest game of the weekend on Sunday. United picked up their first home point last time out against Perth Glory, are unbeaten so far this season with 4 points to their name and with the likes of Alessandro Diamanti in their ranks, they should go well this term. Melbourne City meanwhile have made a solid start since Erick Mombaerts was installed as the man to replace a rather unsuccessful spell for the club under Warren Joyce. City picked up an impressive win over Adelaide United last weekend and they will be looking to build on that here. This will be a real test for both sides and with so much quality on display; an entertaining score draw looks on the cards.

Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.5) Bet Now

2-2 Draw
