It’s fair to say that we were happy to see AFL return last week and happy to pick 9/9 winners!
If you put our head-to-head picks into a multi bet, you would’ve enjoyed a nice payout on the $53/1 odds!
All nine games provided punters with plenty of excitement and there are nine more games to enjoy this week, starting with Adelaide vs. Richmond on Thursday night.

7:20pm Adelaide vs. Richmond @ Adelaide Oval
It was business as usual for Richmond to open their account last Thursday night, scoring a 121-95 win over Carlton.
Although pushed throughout the game and only pulling away late in the second half, they never looked out of control.
Playing on the road this week against a hurting Adelaide squad could be dangerous territory for the Tigers and bookmakers agree.
They have Adelaide as the $1.60 favourites despite losing to Essendon in Round 1. That loss came after they were up by 20 points with around seven minutes to go and they can’t lose focus like that against Richmond.
We don’t think they will and we’re predicting a home victory to Adelaide.

4:20pm North Melbourne vs. St Kilda @ Etihad Stadium
We thought St Kilda would come out swinging this season and the 107-82 win over the Brisbane Lions was good enough to suggest they have what it takes.
The Saints rushed out to a good lead in the first quarter and although it got close at three-quarter time, the Saints pulled away in the final term with five goals and three behinds.
It was a dreadful performance by North Melbourne, which scored only 39 points against Gold Coast and although the conditions were less than desirable, there were still aspects about the Kangaroos that were disappointing.
They’re facing another stiff test this week and although playing at home, we’re leaning the visitors way here.
Betting tip: St Kilda –18.5 @ $1.92 (BET NOW)

1:45pm Carlton vs. Gold Coast @ Etihad Stadium
Fans of Carlton should be encouraged by their performance against the Tigers in Round 1 and it’s a strong reason as to why they’re the hot favourites this week.
Carlton were in the game until the final quarter but they never gave up hope. That type of performance will win them many more fans this season, but a win will need to be achieved soon.
That could come here against the Suns, which scored a tough win over the Kangaroos but that game might have taken plenty of out them.
Carlton appear to be a much more polished team and despite sitting in 12th after one round, we can’t see them languishing down the bottom for long.

4:35pm Collingwood vs. Greater Western Sydney @ MCG
Buckle up Collingwood fans, it could be another long and arduous season.
The 67-101 loss to the Hawks in Round 1 was to be expected by some, given their injury concerns, but there didn’t seem to be much fight in the Magpies.
Making matters worse will be playing the Giants, which lead the competition following their win over the Bulldogs by 82 points.
The romp was led by Jeremy Cameron (6 goals) and Toby Greene, who chimed in with four goals of his own.
Can Collingwood stop the Giants momentum this week? That seems unlikely after what we’ve seen in Round 1.
Betting tip: Greater Western Sydney –20.5 @ $1.92 (BET NOW)

7:25pm Brisbane vs. Melbourne @ The Gabba
Brisbane and Melbourne will be looking to bounce back after defeats in Round 1.
The Lions weren’t good enough to handle the Saints and Melbourne suffered a close loss to the Cats, which was clearly the better loss of the two teams.
Despite playing away from home this week, the advantage has to go to Melbourne, which kicked 13 goals last week in defeat.
Anything close to that performance sees Melbourne winning and we’re not sure Brisbane has the defence to cope with the many scoring threats.
Bookmakers appear to have this game spot on, but we’re not confident enough to lay the 18.5 points in the points spread market.

7:40pm Fremantle vs. Essendon @ Optus Stadium
All aboard the Essendon train and we’re unlikely to jump off unless they start showing signs of distress.
The Bombers were at their best against Adelaide in Round 1 and we can see this resurgence continuing against Fremantle this week.
Fremantle were poor against Port Adelaide last week, losing 110-60 in a dismal effort and a massive turnaround will be needed to hold off the charging Bombers.
Playing away from home will be the big test for Essendon and they won’t have nearly as many fans to rely on, but they’re the better side at the moment and we’re sticking with them.
Betting tip: Essendon to win @ $1.59 (BET NOW)

3:20pm Western Bulldogs vs. West Coast @ Etihad Stadium
The Western Bulldogs are favourites in Round 2 despite scoring only 51 points against GWS and giving up 133 in the process.
We’re not sure what to make of the bookmakers’ lines here, but we must respect the money coming for the home side.
They face the Eagles, which went well enough against the Sydney Swans last week, but never looked a winning hope.
This is the hardest game to pick this week and we would favour West Coast based on form, but the line is fishy and it’s pushing us towards the home side.

4:40pm Sydney vs. Port Adelaide @ SCG
Looking like the game of the round, Sydney takes on Port Adelaide in a top-five clash this Sunday afternoon.
The Swans were strong over the Eagles last week and they did the little things well, but Port Adelaide were simply crushing against Fremantle.
The 50-point win established the Power as powerhouses in the early stages of the season and they could be a team that pushes the favourites close.
Bookmakers have Sydney as the firm favourites and considering we like the Swans to do well this season we’d have to agree, but a win from Port Adelaide wouldn’t surprise many this week.

3:20pm Geelong vs. Hawthorn @ MCG
Easter Monday sees the Geelong Cats takes on the Hawthorn Hawks, which both scored wins in the opening week.
Geelong edged past Melbourne 97-94 in a less-than-convincing display and Hawthorn were easy winners over Collingwood.
It’s tough to say which team performed better in their respective wins. The Magpies didn’t give Hawthorn much of a challenge and the Cats were pushed to their limits.
It might have been a good wake up call for Geelong and with Patrick Dangerfield tipped to be starting on Monday, we’re going with Geelong here.
