7:50pm Carlton vs. Collingwood @ MCG
Carlton takes on Collingwood this Friday night and one team will notch their first win of the season.
It hasn’t been a great start to the season for either club, with Carlton losing a winnable game over Gold Coast last week and Collingwood falling to the Giants.
Bookmakers are currently siding with Collingwood, but it’s hard to say which team has been more disappointing so far this season.
The $2.60 for Carlton in a game which should be seen as a 50/50 split is good value.

1:45pm Port Adelaide vs. Brisbane @ Adelaide Oval
What punter hasn’t been impressed with Port Adelaide to open the season?
The Power have scored two impressive wins and beating Sydney last week was a quality display after winning by over 50 points in Round 1.
It’s tough to see the Brisbane Lions improving enough after consecutive losses to open the season and this should be an easy victory for the home side, but will they cover the big spread?
45.5 points is a lot to cover this early in the season and although the Power are firing on all cylinders, they might take the foot off the gas for a quarter here, which could allow Brisbane to cover the spread.
Betting tip: Brisbane +44.5 @ $1.92 (BET NOW)

2:10pm Melbourne vs. North Melbourne @ MCG
Melbourne is the firm favourite to defeat their northern rivals despite both teams coming off a win last week.
Melbourne was too good for the Lions, scoring by 100-74 and the Kangaroos were impressive winners over St Kilda, winning by 95-43.
That was the more impressive win in our opinion and we’re not entirely sure why bookmakers have North Melbourne as decided underdogs.
Both teams have pros and cons, but there’s little between these sides and we’ll take the points on offer for North Melbourne.
Betting tip: North Melbourne +22.5 @ $1.92 (BET NOW)

2:35pm Gold Coast vs. Fremantle @ Optus Stadium
Bookmakers don’t quite believe that this Gold Coast team is for real this season, but there’s something in the Queensland water.
Coming into this game having scored a dominating victory over Carlton, Gold Coast looks ready for the challenge over Fremantle, which looked good when beating Essendon on Saturday night.
Was that win good enough to see them installed as the $1.42 favourite away from home? We don’t think so and Fremantle is a team which doesn’t always the best consistency.
Let’s not forget that Fremantle were not favoured to beat Essendon last week, so we’ll go with the home dog again in this match up.
Betting tip: Gold Coast to win @ $2.90 (BET NOW)

7:25pm Sydney vs. Greater Western Sydney @ SCG
We have high hopes for the Sydney Swans this season but last week’s loss to Port Adelaide made us rethink our expectations.
They come up against the unbeaten Giants this week and that’s going to provide a stiff challenge for the Swans, which won’t want to fall to 1-2 on the season.
GWS put away Collingwood late in the piece and their defence has been solid so far this season, allowing only 130 points compared to 180 for Sydney.
Taking on the offensively-inept Magpies will pump up the stats, however, so stick with the home side here at a good price.
Betting tip: Sydney to win @ $1.70 (BET NOW)

7:25pm St Kilda vs. Adelaide @ Etihad Stadium
Both teams have had a win and a loss this season, but the Crows are coming off a convincing 118-82 win over Richmond.
How much of that win was attributed to playing at home? We think it was quite important and playing in Melbourne is going to provide another challenge.
The Saints were disastrous against the Kangaroos last week, scoring only 43 points from five goals and 13 behinds.
The statistics don’t read well for St Kilda in this match up and we’re predicting the likes of Eddie Betts and Tex Walker to run them ragged.
Betting tip: Adelaide –21.5 @ $1.92 (BET NOW)

1:10pm Richmond vs. Hawthorn @ MCG
Richmond might sit at 12th on the ladder after a win and a loss this season, but they’re going to improve and scoring a win over Hawthorn would be huge.
The Tigers were held by the Crows last Thursday night but they played well throughout and were only put to the sword late in the second half.
Hawthorn escaped with a one-point victory over Geelong last week and whilst that would have been a confidence-boosting victory, it might leave them flat-footed this week.
Richmond is a team that can run and gun, so Hawthorn will need to slow the ruck down and tackle well.
There’s little between these sides.
Betting tip: Richmond to win @ $1.68 (BET NOW)
Richmond by 10
3:20pm Western Bulldogs vs. Essendon @ Etihad Stadium
Essendon lost no admirers when losing to Fremantle on Saturday.
The Bombers played well for the most part but were unable to stem the flow of possessions for Fremantle at times throughout the game.
Despite that, they still came back at the end of the game to make the score more respectable and taking on the winless Bulldogs should help this week.
The Dogs were comfortably beaten last week and the 254 points given up over two rounds is extremely concerning.
They will have a tough time containing the rangy forwards of Essendon and this game could be over by halftime.
Betting tip: Essendon –15.5 @ $1.92 (BET NOW)
Essendon by 30
4:40pm West Coast vs. Geelong @ Optus Stadium
Both the Eagles and Cats are looking to secure their second win of the season.
The Eagles looked the goods last week when beating the Bulldogs and the Cats scored 18 goals in defeat to the Hawks, losing 117-118 in a torrid affair.
Despite the loss and playing away from home here, we are leaning in Geelong’s favour.
They match up well against the Eagles and they seemingly have more x-factor than their opposition here.
$1.80 for the Cats is generally considered as a good price and this should be an exciting game to close the round.
Betting tip: Geelong to win @ $1.80 (BET NOW)
