We have Adelaide vs. Collingwood predictions for AFL Round 20 on Thursday, July 23 at 7:30pm at the Adelaide Oval.
It’s a huge match to open the round as the Crows and Magpies look to continue their hot form with the AFL finals knocking on the door.
Best Bet
Adelaide is riding a seven-game winning streak at home, and given how well they played well last week, we can’t see them losing to Collingwood.
The Magpies are enjoying a winning streak of their own, culminating with a win over Carlton last week. However, they haven’t been beating title contenders, and we have the Crows being one of the best teams in the competition.
They scored a gutsy 87-71 win over Sydney last week, which came on the road. Most of the money was with Sydney as Adelaide rested Tex Walker, but it didn’t matter. Adelaide was too strong in the fourth quarter, and they have their eyes set on bigger targets over the next two months.
Bookmakers have the line at –14.5, which is a sizable number for a marquee game, but if they can beat Sydney by 16 points at the SCG, then they can beat Collingwood at Adelaide Oval by 15+.

Walker was given a rest last week and it could pay off on Thursday night. He kicked five goals in a win over Gold Coast, so he was deserved a rest, and he should return with another big outing. Punters get $1.90 for Walker to kick 2+ goals, which is a good AFL SGM pick.
We also like Josh Rachele to kick 2+ goals. He had only one last week, but that followed three goals against Gold Coast. It was a tough defensive-style game against Sydney, but there should be more points scored against the Pies.
We’re going against betting trends and backing over 166.5 points. This game sets up ideally for an open style of play, and there could be more points than bookmakers expect.
Best Value Bet
Riley Thilthorpe has been enigmatic this season, but the Adelaide big man could get the first goal against Collingwood.
He keeps getting above defenders, but his hands let him down. He made numerous drops last week, but managed two goals, and that could improve his confidence levels.
The Crows will look to kick the ball his way early, as they want Thilthorpe to get going before the finals come around.
