Thursday 15/5/25
Hawthorn got back to its best last week with a win over an understrength Melbourne, and it’s good enough to kick on with it.
The Hawks were out pre-season picks to win the AFL premiership, and although their recent form has been shaky, they’re still third on the ladder and ready to take another top four scalp against Gold Coast on Thursday.
Getting $2.04 for a quality team is too good to pass up.

It’s not easy to back Carlton on a consistent basis, but it comes off a tidy win over St Kilda last week, and that should give the Blues enough confidence to handle the Swans.
Sydney are the favourites with AFL odds despite having lost to Essendon last week, so we’re not interested in the $1.65 odds.
There is much better value with Carlton at +6.5, and the $2.24 to win outright is also worth taking.

Collingwood did its premiership hopes no harm when bouncing back to beat the Dockers last week, and we’re happy to follow them.
Adelaide has been playing well, having beaten Port Adelaide in a close game last week. However, consistency and playing away from home has always been hard for the Crows, which is why they’re $2.80 underdogs.
The class of the Magpies should be enough for them to win comfortably.

It hasn’t been an easy time of it for Port Adelaide, especially after losing to Adelaide last week, but this could be where it all turns around.
The Power face Geelong coming off a tough loss to GWS, and that loss could have a flow-on effect in Round 10 at Adelaide Oval.
Getting $2.28 for Port Adelaide at home is a good price, and we’re happy to take the risk with the home side.

The Giants got back into the top eight with a hard-fought win over Geelong last week, and that could be enough to see their best form return.
After showing good early form in 2025, GWS took its foot off the gas. However, the Dockers are there for the taking, and playing on the road won’t help their chances.
The –17.5 line is fair from bookmakers, so we’re including it in our AFL Round 10 picks.

The Western Bulldogs aren’t easy to beat at home, and although they should be too good for Essendon, it should be a close contest.
Confidence is back with Essendon after scoring a good win last week, and it has enough young talent to compete with the better AFL teams, like the Bulldogs.
Getting +23.5 points is tough to overlook, so include Essendon to cover the spread.

North Melbourne comes off a draw against Brisbane, which was a fantastic effort, but we don’t see much value in taking it to beat Richmond at $1.57.
We would much rather take $2.41 for the Tigers to win consecutive games, and playing West Coast and North Melbourne in consecutive weeks is one way to get wins on the board.
It’s a good price with AFL odds, so include Richmond in AFL picks.

The Lions will be filthy with themselves for only getting a draw against the lowly Kangaroos, but a bounce back effort against Melbourne is on the cards.
Melbourne has been hit with injury woes, and they weren’t playing overly well before that. Therefore, the –31.5 line is warranted from bookmakers.
Brisbane plays at home, which only adds to our confidence levels.

Despite playing better last week against the Tigers, we’re not putting out hard-earned money on the West Coast Eagles.
They typically let punters down, and although St Kilda comes off a loss, it’s a much better team, and the –19.5 line is generous for the favourites.
We expect that line to move to around –22.5 on game day.
