7:50pm Port Adelaide Power vs Melbourne Demons @ Adelaide Oval

Port Adelaide were too good for North Melbourne last week, but it faces a much harder task here.

The Power won 135-65 against an inferior team, but Melbourne comes off a 103-49 win over the Hawks, so they’re also firing.

Playing in Adelaide helps, but we’re picking Melbourne to win.

Port Adelaide vs Melbourne – betr Same Game Multi

1:45pm North Melbourne Kangaroos vs Sydney Swans @ Marvel Stadium

There isn’t much joy for loyal Kangaroos backers, so we advise staying away from them in the meantime.

There is more momentum with the Swans, who despite being defeated by Fremantle last week, should have too much class for the Kangaroos.

Bookmakers have the line at 30.5, in which Sydney should cover.

2:10pm Western Bulldogs vs Adelaide Crows @ Mars Stadium

We were impressed with the Western Bulldogs last week, who scored a gutsy win over Carlton.

It shapes up well for a clash against the Adelaide Crows, who are also playing excellent footy following a 121-69 win over St Kilda.

There won’t be much between them, but we’re leaning towards the Bulldogs scoring a close win.

4:35pm Fremantle Dockers vs Geelong Cats @ Optus Stadium

It was good to see Fremantle get back to its best with a win against Sydney, so it could use that momentum against the Cats.

Geelong lost to Richmond 102-78 as the –25.5 favourites, so it was a disappointing effort, and we’re not sure if they’ll rebound quickly.

There is better value with Fremantle, and the penny might have dropped.

7:30pm Brisbane Lions vs Gold Coast Suns @ Gabba

The Lions produced a defensive masterclass against Essendon last week, so the Suns could find it hard to score.

Gold Coast were far too good for West Coast last week when winning 113-43, but the level of opposition increases significantly on Saturday.

Bookmakers have the Lions at –27.5, which is fair. They are the better team and the Suns could struggle to keep up.

7:40pm Essendon Bombers vs Richmond Tigers @ MCG

We thought Richmond would come out firing last week and it didn’t let us down, so the Tigers are worth following again.

Beating Geelong is an excellent form guide, and given Essendon’s offensive struggles last week, we’re not confident in their chances of winning.

Punters get $1.77 for Richmond, so the odds are generous.

1:10pm Hawthorn Hawks vs West Coast Eagles @ UTAS Stadium

Betting on West Coast is akin to setting fire to your money, so take the Hawthorn Hawks to win and cover the spread.

The Hawks haven’t been flying, but they have been playing much better than the Eagles, so we’re not surprised by the –24.5 line.

With home field advantage, they should be far too good.

Collingwood is the hottest team in the competition and we don’t see that run ending against Carlton on Sunday.

Bookmakers have the line at 18.5, which favours Collingwood backers.
