The AFL continues this week with Round 22 action, starting with Western Bulldogs vs. North Melbourne on Thursday night.

Thursday 6/8/26

7:30pm Western Bulldogs vs. North Melbourne @ Marvel Stadium

Betting Tip: Western Bulldogs -15.5 @ $1.90

The Bulldogs were no match for Fremantle last week, but that’s the case with more AFL teams this season.

We expect a bounce back effort against North Melbourne, and although the Roos played well against Hawthorn, repeating that effort could prove tough.

7:40pm Brisbane vs. Hawthorn @ The Gabba

Betting Tip: Brisbane @ $1.83

The Lions have long been a good team to back following a loss, and although Hawthorn is a tough team, we’re backing them to win.

They were overpowered by Carlton last week, which wasn’t a good performance. However, being back at The Gabba should give them a boost.

It’s the match of the round, and we’re picking the home team to prevail.

Saturday 8/8/26

1:15pm Melbourne vs. Fremantle @ MCG

Betting Tip: Fremantle -13.5 @ $1.90

Punters get a good line for Fremantle at -13.5, and although Melbourne played well to beat Gold Coast, beating the SUNS hasn’t been a good form guide.

Fremantle is the best team in the competition, and we can’t see them slipping up in the run to the finals, so we’re backing them to handle the Demons.

The -13.5 line is generous, so include it before money comes for Fremantle during the week.

4:15pm Sydney vs. Port Adelaide @ SCG

Betting Tip: Sydney -34.5 @ $1.90

We’re not surprised to see Sydney listed as dominant favourites, and they should have no problem putting away Port Adelaide.

The Swans are holding onto a top two position on the AFL ladder, and with Port Adelaide playing only for pride, it should be a one-sided affair.

Sydney should score by around 40 points, so include them in AFL Round 22 picks.

4:35pm Geelong vs. Essendon @ GMHBA Stadium

Betting Tip: Geelong -64.5 @ $1.90

Betting against Essendon has been profitable for punters this season, and we see no reason to bet against Geelong.

The Cats should be far too good for the Bombers, hence the 64.5-point line, and they could score around 120-130 points.

Look away if you’re an Essendon supporter, as it could get messy early on.

7:35pm Adelaide vs. Richmond @ Adelaide Oval

It’s another big line facing punters this week, but it should be another one-sided game in Adelaide’s favour.

The Crows have been mixing their form recently, but they scored a bounce back with over Essendon last week, and although Richmond comes off a win, that form is unlikely to continue.

Most of the money should come for the Crows, who look to keep a top four spot.

1:10pm GWS vs. Gold Coast @ Manuka Oval

It has been a disappointing year for both teams, but GWS has shown more recently, so we’re picking them to win.

Gold Coast had a great chance to keep its wild card hopes alive against Melbourne, but despite having a 17-point lead in the second half, they couldn’t hold on.
