The all-Queensland battle is set to excite AFL punters, but it could be a one-sided affair with Brisbane set to score a convincing victory.

Brisbane put a bad performance against Carlton behind them last week when smashing Hawthorn, and that’s an excellent form guide for this game.

Beating Hawthorn 125-58 is one of the best performances of the year from any team, and given how Gold Coast has played this season, we can’t see them doing enough to cover the spread against the two-time reigning champions.

The SUNS ended their long losing streak with a win over GWS last week. The 79-77 win was a gutsy effort, but it wasn’t a high-quality performance, and if Brisbane is anywhere near their best, they should score a comfortable victory.

We have the Lions winning by around 40-44 points, so include the -32.5 line in AFL picks this week.

We’re going with under 186.5 points, despite predicting a big win for Brisbane. Gold Coast could struggle to put points on the board, and seven of their last eight away games against reigning premiers have gone under the total.
