Brisbane vs. Sydney Predictions

We have Brisbane vs. Sydney predictions for AFL Round 16 on Thursday, June 25 at 7:30pm at the Gabba.

The Lions opened as favourites, but with late money coming for the Swans, they could firm into favouritism at kick off.

Brisbane has bounced back to form with consecutive wins over Gold Coast and Richmond, but the level of opposition wasn’t strong. They now face Sydney, which has four wins from its last five games, and the Swans could make it five from six.

They just got past Port Adelaide in Round 14, but with a bye under their belt, they should be well-rested and ready to produce a good performance. They have recent wins over St Kilda and Collingwood, and they have already beaten Brisbane this season.

The 104-60 win at the SCG was an excellent form guide, and although this game is played at the Gabba, we don’t think that it will make much difference. Brisbane was held to 18 points at halftime in that game, and Sydney could hammer home an early advantage again.

We have the Swans scoring a comfortable win and making a statement in this game. It’s not easy to beat the Lions by 40+ points, but two of their last three losses have come by 40+ points, so they tend to get blown away when they lose.
