It’s rare to get Fremantle with a -10.5 line, and although Carlton hasn’t been an easy team to beat recently, we’re going with the better team.

Fremantle are the current AFL Premiership favourites after a dominant season, and after losing to Melbourne in Round 22, they hit back with a 112-88 win over Adelaide, and that’s a good form guide for this game.

Carlton made the Wild Card round with an 82-82 draw against the Western Bulldogs. That was a big relief, and it could have a flow-on effect this week. They might conserve energy ahead of their playoff game, so we’re surprised by the AFL odds.

We priced Fremantle at -20.5, and although they don’t need to win the game either, they don’t often take their foot off the gas regardless of the situation, especially with players wanting to be in form ahead of the finals.

Josh Treacy also struggled last week when kicking just one goal, but he has been good for most of the year. He has two 3+ goal games from his last five matches, so we’re backing him to kick 3+ goals at $2.03, which provides a boost to AFL SGM odds.

Fremantle’s last four games on the road have gone over the total, and they combined for 192 points in their last meeting.
