Carlton vs. Hawthorn Predictions - AFL Round 18 2026Ended

We have Carlton vs. Hawthorn predictions for AFL Round 18 on Saturday, July 11 at 7:35pm at the MCG.

Hawthorn are favourites to bounce back from a poor showing last week, but there is value with the underdogs as Carlton look to win their eighth consecutive game.

Best Bet

Carlton +14.5 @ $1.90

Bet Now

We’re not surprised to see Hawthorn open as favourites, but we’re surprised by the +14.5 line for Carlton.

After how poorly Hawthorn played last week against Melbourne, their confidence levels will be down. Their midfield troubles, which they had coped with, came to the fore last week, and it could snowball into another loss.

Carlton is playing well after posting seven consecutive wins. They haven’t been beating the best teams in the AFL lately, but they defeated Geelong in Round 12, and they keep finding ways to win tight contests, including last week against Richmond.

They will need to play better against Hawthorn, but confidence is important, and the Blues have plenty of it. They’re marching towards the finals, and a win over the Hawks would see their stocks rise in a big way.

The +14.5 line is too good to turn down, so we’re including it in our AFL predictions.

Same Game Multi

Carlton +14.5, Harry McKay 2+ Goals, Brodie Kemp 2+ Goals, Total Points Under 172.5 @ $11.50

Bet Now

Bookmakers have value odds for Harry McKay and Brodie Kemp 2+ goals, and they add value to AFL SGM picks.

McKay had only one goal against Richmond, but he kicked three against the Eagles. We expect that level of play to return from Carlton’s best attacking player. Kemp has three two-goal games from his last five, and $2.40 to kick 2+ goals is a generous offering with AFL odds.

It should be a tight contest, and our final score prediction has Carlton winning 84-79, so we’re including under 172.5 points in our multi bet.

Best Value Bet

Carlton 1-39 @ $3.15

Bet Now

We expect Carlton to put up a good fight against the Hawks, and although it won’t be easy, we have them edging past the Hawks late in the fourth quarter.

They are used to winning close games no matter the level of opposition, and the $3.15 odds for a 1-39 victory are better to take than the $2.72 odds for an outright win.
