Collingwood vs. Hawthorn Predictions – AFL Round 8 2026

We have Collingwood vs. Hawthorn predictions for AFL Round 8 on Thursday, April 30 at 7:30pm at MCG.

One of the biggest games of the week kicks things off, and we expect the Hawks to extend their winning streak.

Best Bet

Hawthorn -21.5 @ $1.90

Hawthorn is doing what it needs to do to win games, and Collingwood would need to play well to keep it close.

The Hawks are riding a six-game winning streak, including tough wins over Geelong, Sydney, and the Western Bulldogs. They weren’t as good when beating Port Adelaide, but they fired back with a 112-63 win over Gold Coast last week.

Collingwood comes off back-to-back wins, but they were against Carlton and Essendon, so this is a massive rise in opposition. That’s why they’re the +21.5 underdogs, and although that’s a sizable line, we’re backing Hawthorn to come up with the goods.

Include Hawthorn –21.5 in your AFL picks this week, and they could get punters off to a winning start in Round 8.

Same Game Multi

Hawthorn –21.5, Mitch Lewis 2+ Goals, Finn Maginness 1+ Goal, Total Points Under 180.5 @ $8.75

Mitch Lewis is a $1.75 chance to kick two goals on Thursday night. He scored only one goal last week, but he had eight goals in his previous three games, so he should get back to his best.

Punters also get value odds for Finn Maginness to kick a goal. He kicked a double last week, so his confidence levels are high. The $2.05 odds are worth including in AFL same game multi picks this week.

Collingwood and Hawthorn have combined for 156 and 163 points in their last two meetings, so under 180.5 points is a good bet according to the latest AFL betting trends.

Best Value Bet

Hawthorn 40+ @ $2.85

Beating Collingwood by 40+ points isn’t easy, but Hawthorn won 110-46 last August, and they can repeat that effort.

Collingwood didn’t look good earlier this season when losing to Brisbane and Fremantle in consecutive games, and given the way Hawthorn is playing, a big win could be on the cards.

Two of their last three wins came by 40+ points, so they know how to score a big victory, and the $2.85 odds are worth including as an AFL value bet.
