Collingwood is enjoying a good recent run with three consecutive wins, and they’re a good chance of making it four on the bounce against North Melbourne.

We have backed the Kangaroos most weeks, but after playing poorly against Port Adelaide last week, we can’t include them in our AFL picks this week.

The Magpies turned their form around with wins over Port Adelaide, Richmond, and Gold Coast. They’re not the toughest teams in the competition, but it’s enough to get Collingwood’s confidence levels to rise.

Bookmakers aren’t giving Collingwood enough respect as –17.5 favourites. We priced them at –25.5, so we’re jumping on the line. The Magpies have shortened in head-to-head markets, and we expect the line to move throughout the week.

Daniel McStay also kicked three goals last week against Gold Coast. He isn’t always the most consistent kicker, but we fancy his chances of scoring 2+ goals, which pays $1.61.

North Melbourne’s attack has improved in 2026, but they haven’t been as impressive lately. They scored just 52 points last week, and in their three previous wins, they didn’t score more than 79 points. Therefore, we’re including under 174.5 points in our AFL SGM.

It could be a one-sided win for Collingwood, and although beating the improved Kangaroos by 40+ is tough, we don’t have enough confidence in North Melbourne’s ability to cope with pressure.

They were beaten 155-31 in Round 13 by Fremantle, and although the score won’t be that drastic, Collingwood has a good chance of winning comfortably by 40+ points, so take the $3.30 odds.
