Essendon vs. GWS Bulldogs Predictions

We have Essendon vs. GWS predictions for AFL Round 19 on Sunday, July 19 at 4:40pm at Marvel Stadium.

Closing out the week are the Bombers and GIANTS, where GWS looks to post a rare three-peat of wins.

Essendon fans are going through the ringer this season, and having lost their last 20 games in Victoria, playing at home doesn’t help their cause.

GWS looks to continue their march towards playing finals footy, and although they’re on the outside looking in, beating Fremantle and Geelong in their last two games is a massive form reversal. They sit in 11th on the ladder, but they’re a danger to the top teams if they make the finals.

Fremantle has only one loss from their last 16 games, and one of those came against GWS. It’s a credit to their quality roster, and although they have underperformed so far, they have six weeks left to remedy the situation.

Essendon was hammered 149-59 by Brisbane last week, and they’re already booking their post-season holidays. The lack of fight is a concern, and we can’t put our hard-earned money on Essendon at this stage of the year.

Toby Greene didn’t score last week, but his prior form was excellent. He had 10 goals in his previous four games, so we have him scoring 3+ goals at a healthy $1.82.

We also have Callum Brown kicking a double, having scored three last week. It was his second 3+ goal scoring game from his last three matches, so he’s seeing the ball go through the posts. Punters get $1.87 for Brown to kick a double, which is worth including in AFL SGM picks.
