The Swans are $1.02 favourites to beat the Bombers, and it could be the most one-sided game of the week.

It’s a big line to cover, but after beating Port Adelaide 167-70, nothing is impossible for the Swans.

They should be far too good for a struggling Essendon team, who have been well beaten in their last three games. The closest they got to the opposition was a 117-50 loss to Geelong last week, which is telling.

Their win over GWS in Round 19 was impressive, but they’re going to win the wooden spoon, and Sydney has eyes on a title, so there is a big difference in the level of play expected on Sunday night.

Essendon is 0-11 in their last 11 games at the MCG, which doesn’t bode well, and although Sydney must travel, they’re riding a three-game winning streak, and they’re looking to turn around a couple of moderate performances against Essendon in 2025.

Chad Warner has three 2+ goal performances in his last three games, and punters get $1.88 for 2+ goals. That’s a good price for a player with confidence on his side, and he’s worth including in AFL SGM picks.

Essendon could struggle to score over 60 points, which should be enough to see under 184.5 points come through for punters.
