Geelong vs. Brisbane Predictions – AFL Round 17 2026

We have Geelong vs. Brisbane predictions for AFL Round 17 on Thursday, July 2 at 7:30pm at GMHBA Stadium.

Kicking off the week is a blockbuster between the Cats and Lions, where a spot in the top four awaits the winner.

Best Bet

Geelong –14.5 @ $1.90

Geelong has three losses from their last four games, but it’s no reason to panic. They lost to Carlton, Adelaide, and in Round 15 against Fremantle, but the 99-90 loss to Fremantle is a solid form guide for this game.

Fremantle has been beating teams by much bigger margins, and Geelong’s return to GMHBA Stadium is welcome. They are 10-0 in their last 10 games at the venue, and Brisbane often struggles to show their best on the road.

Geelong won their meeting earlier this year 116-76 at the Gabba, so if Brisbane can’t stay in the contest at home, we don’t give them much chance of keeping it close on the road. Therefore, we’re surprised to see the line at only –14.5 for Geelong.

We rated them as –20.5 favourites, so we’re snapping up the value line before it moves during the week.

Same Game Multi

Geelong –14.5, Jeremy Cameron 3+ Goals, Jack Martin 2+ Goals, Total Points Over 174.5 @ $8.50

Jeremy Cameron has been a reliable bet for most of the year, and although he kicked only two goals last week, he could improve on that total. He has 12 goals from his last five games, and his size should be too much for the smaller Lions’ defenders to handle.

Jack Martin kicked three goals last week, making it five goals from his last three games. Punters get $2.25 for Martin to kick 2+ goals, which is a better price than expected, so include him in Geelong vs. Brisbane SGM picks.

They combined for 193 points in May, and that was with Brisbane scoring only 76 points. We predict another high-scoring game.

Best Value Bet

Patrick Dangerfield 20+ Disposals @ $3.32

Patrick Dangerfield has lodged over 20+ disposals in his last three games, so he’s our best value bet for the game.

The Cats’ leader had totals of 30, 22, and 20 disposals in his last three games, and although he doesn’t typically put up those numbers, it’s a good sign.

The $3.32 odds are generous, so include Dangerfield in AFL picks this week.
