Gold Coast vs. GWS Predictions – AFL Round 8 2026

We have Gold Coast vs. GWS predictions for AFL Round 8 on Sunday, May 3 at 7:20pm at People First Stadium.

Gold Coast are favoured at $1.38 to win, but there could be an upset in the making to end the week.

Best Bet

GWS +18.5 @ $1.90

GWS is starting to turn things around with two wins from its last three games, including a 105-98 win over North Melbourne last week.

Wins over North Melbourne aren’t usually held in high regard, but the Kangaroos are playing well this year, and it should be a confidence-building victory.

We haven’t been impressed with Gold Coast in recent weeks. The SUNS lost to Melbourne and Sydney before beating Essendon in a close game, and they followed up the win with a loss to Hawthorn last week. It’s not good form, and although they’re at home, GWS could jump all over them.

Getting a +18.5 start is better than expected, so it’s worth including in AFL picks this week.

Same Game Multi

GWS +18.5, Jesse Hogan + Goals, Aaron Cadman 2+ Goals, Total Points Over 186.5 @ $7.00

Punters don’t get massive odds for Jesse Hogan and Aaron Cadman to kick 2+ goals each, but they’re good for building a multi bet.

Hogan comes off consecutive two-goal games against Sydney and North Melbourne, and he should get every chance to kick a double this week. Cadman has seven goals in his last two games, so the $1.58 odds are worth including.

The over has cashed in Gold Coast’s last five home games. We expect plenty of goals, and they combined for 187 points in their most recent meeting. Bookmakers have the current line right on the number, but it’s a fair line.

Best Value Bet

GWS H2H @ $3.08

There is good value in betting on GWS to win outright as the $3.08 price is better than expected.

GWS won 111-76 at People First Stadium last year, and that victory should be at the forefront of their minds. It was a good victory, and history could repeat itself.

We would have been happy to back GWS at around $2.40, and the lack of respect in betting markets wasn’t expected. A fast start could see GWS take control and never look back.
