Gold Coast vs. Melbourne Predictions - AFL Round 21 2026Ended

We have Gold Coast vs. Melbourne predictions for AFL Round 21 on Sunday, August 2 at 3:15pm at People First Stadium.

There is a lot of space between the SUNS and Demons on the ladder but not much separating them with AFL odds this week. It promises to be one of the best games of the week.

Best Bet

Melbourne -4.5 @ $1.90

Bet Now

It’s a big game for Melbourne, and we thought they would be at shorter odds to beat a Gold Coast team going through a tough period.

The Demons lost to Geelong last week, but that followed three consecutive wins, and we’re looking at that form as the best guide. They scored wins over Hawthorn, Richmond, and North Melbourne, with the win over the Hawks being their best of the year.

There has been money for Gold Coast when playing at home throughout the year, but it has been a losing bet. They come off home losses to the Bulldogs and Magpies, and although they are better at home, it doesn’t warrant the odds.

We are keen to include Melbourne -4.5, which is one of the better AFL lines of the week.

Same Game Multi

Melbourne -4.5, Bayley Fritsch 2+ Goals, Jacob van Rooyen 3+ Goals, Total Points Over 181.5 @ $9.00

Bet Now

Jacob van Rooyen hasn’t let us down much this year, but he did last week. He failed to kick a goal against Geelong, but Gold Coast’s defence isn’t nearly as good, and we have him bouncing back with 3+ goals. It pays $2.85 with AFL odds, which provides a big boost to payouts.

Bayley Fritsch has eight goals in his last two games, including three goals last week. He’s firing on all cylinders now, and although he can go missing in games, when he’s on, he’s tough to stop.

Points should flow throughout the game, and it could be one of the highest scoring games of the week. Include over 181.5 points in multis.

Best Value Bet

Jacob van Rooyen First Goal Scorer @ $10.00

Bet Now

The best way to bounce back from a tough outing is by scoring the opening goal, and we have van Rooyen coming up with the goods.

He’s a quality and accurate kicker, and prior to last week’s bagel, he had 16 goals from his previous four games. That form should return, and he could get Melbourne off to a flying start on Sunday afternoon.
