Last week’s win against Port Adelaide was a step in the right direction for GWS, and they need to keep winning to have any chance of making the finals.

They suffered losses to Essendon and Sydney before winning last week, and they now play Gold Coast coming off 10 consecutive losses, so it’s an ideal chance for the GIANTS to string wins together at a crucial stage of the season.

They met in May when Gold Coast won 83-63 at People First Stadium, but playing at home should help GWS, who have been much better at home. They scored home wins over Fremantle and Geelong in Rounds 17 and 18, so those are excellent form guides for this game.

We have them covering the -18.5 spread against a SUNS team that can’t seem to put things together for four quarters.

GWS needs Jake Stringer to play his best, and after scoring three goals against Port, he could keep that form going. He was good enough to kick seven goals against Fremantle, so if he can do that to the Dockers’ defence, he can kick 3+ goals against Gold Coast.

Jake Riccardi is another GIANTS player with good form. He has at least two goals in four of his last five games, so we’re surprised by the $2.60 odds. We’re including him in our AFL SGM picks to boost payouts.

Under 171.5 points is another good AFL bet. They scored just 146 points in their latest meeting, and Gold Coast could struggle to kick straight.

The heads of Gold Coast could drop even further this Sunday, and after losing 10 games on the bounce, we’re surprised it hasn’t happened earlier.

They had a good chance to beat Melbourne last week, but they didn’t muster much in the fourth quarter, and GWS could jump on them early and never look back.

$3.25 for a 40+ win is worth including as a value bet.
