GWS vs. Richmond Predictions – AFL Round 5 2026

We have GWS vs. Richmond predictions for AFL Round 5 on Sunday, April 12 at 3:15pm at Barossa Park.

The Giants have been well-backed to hand the Tigers another loss, and both teams look to end a losing streak.

Best Bet

GWS -35.5 @ $1.90

It hasn’t been a good start to the year for GWS, which looked the goods when beating Hawthorn in the opening round. They have since had three consecutive losses, but a good way to get back to winning form is by playing Richmond.

We don’t see the Tigers getting off the bottom of the AFL ladder anytime soon, and scoring just 49 points against Port Adelaide last week was close to embarrassing. The glory days of Richmond are over, and GWS should score a comfortable win.

There is too much scoring power with GWS for Richmond to handle, including Jesse Hogan, Aaron Cadman, and Toby Greene. They should see their goal scoring totals improve significantly against a struggling Tigers outfit.

Same Game Multi

GWS -35.5, Jesse Hogan 3+ Goals, Toby Greene 2+ Goals, Total Match Points Over 178.5 @ $8.50

Hogan has only two goals from his last three games, but this is an ideal game for his form to return. Given how poorly Richmond plays defence in the forward 50, Hogan should have a field day and kick 3+ goals at $1.92 odds.

The same goes for Greene, who has only two goals from his last five games. He’s a quality goal kicker when he’s confident, and an early goal could see him kick 2-3 goals on Sunday. The $2.05 odds are good for boosting AFL same game multi odds.

The line is set at 178.5 points because of Richmond’s scoring struggles, but our final score prediction has GWS winning 128-70, so we’re backing the over.

Best Value Bet

GWS 40+ @ $2.00

Getting $2 for the Giants to win 40+ is excellent shopping for punters, and they should put up a big score on the Tigers.

Their last two meetings have been close games, but with this game being played on neutral ground, GWS should fancy its chances of giving Richmond no chance of causing an upset. Anything but a big win is a loss for GWS, who need to get back into playoff contention with a one-sided win.
