gobet hawthorn vs port adelaide afl tips

We have Hawthorn vs. Port Adelaide predictions for AFL Round 6 on Saturday, April 18 at 4:15pm at Marvel Stadium.

The Hawks are –40.5 favourites to hand Port Adelaide another loss, with most expecting the home team to win their fifth straight game.

Best Bet

Hawthorn –40.5 @ $1.90

We gave Port Adelaide the benefit last week, but after losing 81-67 to St Kilda, we’re jumping off their backs against a team like Hawthorn.

The Hawks made it four consecutive wins when beating the Western Bulldogs by 40 points, and another big margin is likely. If they can beat the Bulldogs 104-64, they should be able to beat the Power by a bigger margin.

Hawthorn is doing everything right, and after losing to GWS in the Opening Round, they have turned things around. They’re a premiership contender, carrying on from their good year in 2025, and they have done to another level.

It should be enough to see them put up a big score on Port Adelaide, who lost heavily to them last year, and Hawthorn has won 21 of its last 22 home matches, just to make it harder for Port.

Same Game Multi

Hawthorn –40.5, Jack Gunston 3+ Goals, Nick Watson 2+ Goals, Total Points Over 183.5 @ $8.50

Points should be on offer for the Hawks, so we’re backing the over. We have Hawthorn scoring close to 120 points in a one-sided rout, and if Port Adelaide scores anywhere around 70 points, the over should be secured.

Goals could come from Jack Gunston and Nick Watson. Gunston has 19 goals this season, including three last week against the Bulldogs. $1.50 to kick 3+ goals is short, but it’s worth including in AFL same game multi bets.

Watson had only one goal last week, but that followed three goals against Geelong. The $1.79 odds to kick a double are worth taking.

Best Value Bet

Hawthorn –64.5 Alternative Lines @ $3.70

Our AFL predictions have Hawthorn thrashing Port Adelaide, so we’re prepared to take a risk and take an alternative line.

We have locked in Hawthorn –64.5, which pays $3.70, and that’s a good price for the added points. Hawthorn could win by close to 70 points if they play well, and Port Adelaide is prone to giving up easily when the chips are down.
