Melbourne vs. Fremantle Predictions - AFL Round 22 2026Ended

We have Melbourne vs. Fremantle predictions for AFL Round 22 on Saturday, August 8 at 1:15pm at the MCG.

Kicking off Super Saturday is a barnstormer between the Demons and Dockers, which have big implications for the AFL finals.

Best Bet

Fremantle -13.5 @ $1.90

Bet Now

The Dockers are easily the best team in the competition, and we have them beating Melbourne by a good margin on Saturday.

They got through a tough game against the Bulldogs by 37 points, and although Melbourne is a tougher game than the Bulldogs, with the spread being only 13.5 points, we can’t leave Fremantle out of our AFL picks this week.

After losing to Gold Coast in a shock result, they have bounced back with four straight wins. They scored a crucial win over Sydney 111-73, despite being behind for most of the game, and it’s those performances that have the Dockers at $3.10 to win the AFL Premiership.

Melbourne has four wins from their last five games, with the loss coming to Geelong. They’re playing well enough to cause an upset, but Fremantle’s defence is superb, and they could limit Melbourne to around 75 points. It should be enough to see Fremantle cover the -13.5 spread, and we have them winning by 20+.

Same Game Multi

Fremantle -13.5, Josh Treacy 3+ Goals, Caleb Serong 25+ Disposals, Total Points Under 174.5 @ $10.50

Bet Now

Josh Treacy has kicked 3+ goals in four of his last five games, so he’s a good bet this week. He has 14 goals during that span, and he could dominate Melbourne. Punters get $2.03 odds to include in AFL multi bet picks.

Caleb Serong is a $2.14 chance to have 25+ disposals, and we’re surprised by the line. He had a run of 25+ disposals before having only 17 last week, but this should be an open contest, which will help Serong’s chances.

Melbourne could struggle offensively, so we’re backing the under. They scored only 70 points in their meeting earlier this year, so bet on under 174.5 points.

Best Value Bet

Josh Treacy First Goal Scorer @ $8.25

Bet Now

Looking to get Fremantle off to a fast start is Treacy, who is their leading goal scorer this season alongside Jye Amiss.

He likes to get into the action early, which is always great when betting on him in first goal scorer markets, so we’re including him in our AFL picks.

The $8.25 odds are generous from bookmakers, so snap up the value.
