Melbourne vs. GWS Predictions - AFL Round 12 2026Ended

We have Melbourne vs. GWS predictions for AFL Round 12 on Sunday, May 31 at 3:15pm at TIO Park in Alice Springs.

A big crowd will be on hand in Alice Springs to watch the Demons and GIANTS, which promises to be one of the best games of the round.

Best Bet

Melbourne -5.5 @ $1.90

Bet Now

Melbourne might have lost to the Bulldogs last week, but they fought back well in the second half, and that should give them confidence.

There is a lot of momentum with GWS after their historic third quarter against Brisbane, but stringing wins together has proven difficult for the GIANTS. They look good one week and terrible the next, so we can’t include them in our AFL picks.

There is more consistency with Melbourne, who looked good when beating Hawthorn 120-81 in Round 10, and if that Melbourne turns up, we don’t think GWS will have much chance of keeping up in what will be high temperatures.

The -5.5 line for Melbourne is worth including, as we have them winning by at least a goal.

Same Game Multi

Melbourne -5.5, Jacob van Rooyen 2+ Goals, Aaron Cadman 2+ Goals, Total Points Under 175.5 @ $8.50

Bet Now

It wasn’t Jacob van Rooyen’s best game for Melbourne last week. He dropped a couple of catches in the 50, which would have given him a good chance to get on the board. However, he bounces back from disappointment well, and $2.30 for a 2+ goal afternoon is a good price.

Aaron Cadman scored three goals for GWS last week. A few of his teammates had more in the 166-point effort, but Cadman is $1.80 to kick 2+ goals, and we can’t turn down those odds.

Conditions won’t be easy in Alice Springs, so the total should go under 175.5 points. Our final score prediction has Melbourne winning 88-80.

Best Value Bet

Jacob van Rooyen First Goal Scorer @ $14.00

Bet Now

The best way to bounce back from a bad game is by kicking the first goal next week, and van Rooyen could get his day off to a good start.

He had been good in his three prior games, including a five-goal effort against West Coast, so he’s capable of getting on the board early and making the defence think about his presence.

Punters get $14 for van Rooyen to kick the first goal, which is worth a small wager.
