North Melbourne vs. Gold Coast Predictions

Best Bet

Gold Coast –24.5 @ $1.90

Betting against the Kangaroos is a good way to make money, and that’s without Gold Coast playing some of its best footy in years. The SUNS have looked the goods so far in 2025, including wins over West Coast, Melbourne, and Adelaide.

Beating West Coast and Melbourne isn’t anything special, but they won those games by a combined margin of 146 points, so the writing is on the wall for the struggling Kangaroos. North Melbourne is 1-3, with its win coming over Melbourne.

It has since lost to Adelaide and Sydney, scoring just 130 points, so we have no qualms in taking Gold Coast –24.5. That’s an excellent line in what should be a one-sided game.

Same Game Multi

Gold Coast Halftime/Fulltime, Ben Long 2+ Goals, Total Match Points Under 180.5 @ $3.75

This is a big revenge game for Gold Coast, which inexplicably lost to North Melbourne last year. This is a different SUNS outfit in 2025, and they won’t be tested from the opening bounce against a struggling team.

We would be surprised to see Gold Coast behind at the half, and we can’t see it happening. It could lead by around 20 at the half, which all but guarantees the halftime/fulltime option cashing.

Ben Long is a good bet for 2+ goals. He scored two last week against Adelaide, and he has 10 goals from his last four games. Getting $1.99 for Long to have two or more goals is much better than we expected from the sportsbook.

Under 180.5 points is a lovely line. In their last two meetings, there were only 170 and 172 points scored, mostly due to the Kangaroos not being able to put points on the board. That should be the case once again on Saturday.

Best Value Bet

Ben King First Goal Scorer @ $8.25

It’s not hard to see why Ben King is the current $8.25 favourite to score the opening goal. He is a powerhouse forward who scored six goals against the Eagles before adding four goals against the Demons.

He likes to get on the board early, and although first goal scorer bets are tough to predict, Gold Coast should get the early momentum and set up King for a mark inside the 50. We fancy his chances of slotting the opening goal, and the odds are worth the risk.
