Richmond vs. Essendon Predictions – AFL Round 11 2026

We have Richmond vs. Essendon predictions for AFL Round 11 on Friday, May 22 at 7:45pm at the MCG.

With only one win between them in the last few weeks, desperation is seeping in for the Tigers and Bombers on Friday night.

Best Bet

Essendon –12.5 @ $1.90

It was always going to be hard for Essendon against Fremantle last week, but a bounce back effort is likely against Richmond.

The Tigers might have a recent win over West Coast on their record, but they deserve to be underdogs against a Bombers team that pushed Gold Coast and GWS close.

There is more upside with the Bombers, who sit one place ahead of Richmond on the AFL ladder, and if they can beat the lower-rated teams, they could rise the rankings. They have a squad capable of beating good teams, and Richmond isn’t one of them.

The –12.5 line isn’t surprising for Essendon, and they could move to around –14.5 during the week. Their younger players have upside, and although Richmond has Tom Lynch, Essendon counters with Nate Caddy, who is playing consistently.

Same Game Multi

Essendon –12.5, Nate Caddy 3+ Goals, Archer May 2+ Goals, Total Points Under 175.5 @ $8.20

Caddy has 10 goals from his last four games, and the Bombers star should have a breakout performance against a tired Richmond defence. He has a good chance of kicking 3+ goals at $1.91 odds, and he’s worth including in AFL SGM picks.

Archer May has delivered for Essendon with nine goals from his last five games. He has been a surprise package in the goal scoring department, and punters could cash in this week.

Richmond vs. Essendon doesn’t usually result in a big score. Richmond won the most recent meeting 46-37, which followed an 81-58 win to Essendon earlier in the year. Based on those results, under 175.5 points should have no problem cashing for punters.

Best Value Bet

Darcy Parish Yiooken Award Winner @ $13.00

Darcy Parish could be the player on the field, and we thought he would have been at shorter odds to win the Yiooken Award.

He’s a player who can do it all for Essendon, and he hasn’t had under 23 disposals in his last five games, including a 25-disposal effort last week against Fremantle.

If he plays well, he could win the award, and he’s a value pick with AFL prop picks.
