Richmond has a poor recent record at the MCG, and North Melbourne should capitalise with an easy win on Sunday.

Boasting two wins from their last three games, the Kangaroos are making a finals push. They scored a win over Gold Coast before losing to Fremantle 155-31, but we loved the way they bounced back with a close win over West Coast.

It has been an improved year for North Melbourne, and the same can’t be said for Richmond. The Tigers have struggled to impress, and their only recent win came against Essendon, so the form guide isn’t good.

We’re not surprised to see North Melbourne listed as $1.38 favourites. The odds are skinny, but betting on Richmond is a huge risk, and one we’re not prepared to take. We’re happy to include North Melbourne –17.5 in our AFL picks, as they should have too much scoring power for the Tigers.

Cooper Trembath kicked two goals against Gold Coast, and although he kicked only one goal against Fremantle and West Coast, we have him kicking a double on Sunday. The $1.84 odds are too good to pass up.

Nine of Richmond’s last 10 games have gone under the total, so include under 176.5 points. We expect Richmond to struggle in the scoring department, so the under should comfortably cash.

Richmond lost its last two games by 35 and 114 points, so North Melbourne has every chance of winning by 40+ points.

They met in April when North Melbourne scored an emphatic 130-55 win at Marvel Stadium, and it could be a similar result.

Richmond struggles to keep up with the Kangaroos, so take the generous $3.25 odds.
