St Kilda vs. Fremantle Predictions
—
Best Bet
Fremantle –4.5 @ $1.90
We like the way the Dockers bounced back from an unforgivable loss to Melbourne with a hard-fought 85-67 win over Adelaide last week. It was a good performance, and they still could have kicked better after posting a 12.13 score.
Better kicking accuracy should see them cover the –4.5 spread against St Kilda, which comes off three consecutive losses to GWS, Western Bulldogs, and Brisbane. They are tough teams to face, but Fremantle isn’t much easier.
There has been some betting support for St Kilda at home, but with a top eight spot up for grabs for Fremantle, we expect it to play well, and edge clear of the Saints in the second half.
Same Game Multi
Fremantle –4.5, Jye Amiss 2+ Goals, Shai Bolton 20+ Disposals, Total Match Points Over 175.5 @ $8.00
There aren’t usually too many points scored between St Kilda and Fremantle, with recent totals of 127, 117, and 181, but that could all change on Friday.
They are waiting to break out offensively, especially Fremantle, which has the players to put up big totals, and playing against St Kilda’s defence, which allowed 118 points against Brisbane last week, could be the recipe for success.
We’re also including Jye Amiss to rarely miss at goal. He scored a double last week, which followed three goals against Melbourne, and the $1.69 odds are worth including in AFL same game multi tips. He is having success in front of goal, and that should continue.
Shai Bolton pays $2.18 to have 20+ disposals, which is over the odds. He comes off consecutive games of 20+ disposals, and although we could have gone safer with Jordan Clark or Hayden Young, we can’t turn down the odds.
Best Value Bet
Fremantle Wire-to-Wire @ $2.85
Punters get value odds for Fremantle to hit the ground running and score a wire-to-wire win. After three consecutive losses, confidence levels could be low for St Kilda, and the Dockers could jump all over them.
We expect money to come for Fremantle throughout the week, so take the $2.85 odds for a wire-to-wire victory, which could firm to around $2.60 at the bounce.
