One of the biggest games goes off on Friday when the Saints and Crows battle in Sydney, and a close game is expected between the finals-bound teams.

Bouncing back from a mentally draining loss can be difficult, and that’s the task awaiting Sydney after losing to Fremantle last week.

They were in the contest for most of the game, but an onslaught in the final quarter saw Sydney drop their heads, and that’s not an attitude we like seeing as punters. Therefore, we’re backing Adelaide to continue their hot form with another win.

The Crows have four wins from their last five games, including quality wins over the Bulldogs, Demons, and SUNS. They lost only to Port Adelaide during that stretch, but we liked the way they rebounded with two victories.

It all comes down to attitude for this game, and although Sydney sits in second place on the AFL ladder, knowing they were dominated by the premiership favourites could play on their minds. They’ll be mentally and physically drained, which could see the Crows swoop in and keep the score close.

With Riley Thilthorpe not kicking his best, Darcy Fogarty has stepped up. He has 13 goals in his last four games, and he’s a player worth including in picks. He has taken over as Adelaide’s primary scorer, so include him in AFL SGM picks at $1.77 to kick 2+ goals.

Tex Walker comes off a five-goal performance against Gold Coast, where Adelaide scored 128 points. We don’t see them scoring anywhere close to that, but Walker has a good chance of kicking two goals. He’s tough to stop when he’s confident, so take the $2.20 odds.

Under 179.5 is a good multi bet addition. They combined for 172 points in their 2025 meeting, where Adelaide won 131-41, and we have Sydney struggling to put up a big total again.

We predict Adelaide to come out of the gates swinging, and a good start could see Sydney struggle to come back into the game.

They were massively outplayed by Fremantle in the fourth quarter last week, so there could be lingering effects of that performance.
