Sydney vs. Gold Coast Predictions – AFL Round 5 2026

We have Sydney vs. Gold Coast predictions for AFL Round 5 on Saturday, April 11 at 4:15pm at Norwood Oval.

One of the biggest games of Gather Round is Sydney vs. Gold Coast, where bookmakers have struggled to separate them with AFL odds.

Best Bet

Sydney @ $1.86

Sydney is going well with three wins from four starts, and they bounced back from a loss with a huge win over the Eagles last week. The 163-35 win showcased their elite attack, and although it came against a poor team, it bodes well.

Gold Coast comes off a shock loss to Melbourne, which ended their unbeaten run. It was a disappointing effort from the SUNS, and bouncing back with a win over Sydney could prove too difficult as the $1.98 underdogs.

There is better value with Sydney in this situation. They have a strong team, and the addition of Charlie Curnow has taken them to another level. We priced them at $1.70, so we’re snapping up the value with our AFL picks this week.

Same Game Multi

Sydney H2H, Charlie Curnow 3+ Goals, Joel Amartey 2+ Goals, Total Match Points Under 193.5 @ $8.50

Curnow comes off a four-goal performance against West Coast, and although the level of opposition wasn’t strong, it could spark him into life. We have him kicking 3+ goals against Gold Coast, which pays a healthy $2.03.

Joel Amartey kicked two goals last week, and it has been a good start to the year for him. He has 11 goals from four games, and he’s going under the radar with AFL odds. The $1.70 is good enough to boost AFL same game multi odds.

Goals are expected to flow, but the final score could be 100-90, so we’re taking the under. 193.5 points is a big line, so the best play is the under.

Best Value Bet

Sydney Wire-to-Wire @ $2.80

Our AFL predictions have Sydney leading from the outset, and an early goal could be enough to get them off and running.

We’re not discounting Gold Coast, which showed good form during the first three weeks, but after losing to Melbourne last week, it could find it tough to come out swinging on Saturday. The $2.80 odds for Sydney to lead after every quarter is worth including as an AFL value bet.
