We have Sydney vs. Port Adelaide predictions for AFL Round 22 on Saturday, August 8 at 4:15pm at the SCG.

The Swans are firm favourites to beat the struggling Power, in what could be the most one-sided game of the week.

As the $1.13 favourites, we expected Sydney to be at around -44.5 in betting markets, so we’re including them at -35.5 in our AFL predictions this week.

They suffered consecutive losses to Fremantle and Adelaide, but we liked the way they fired back with wins over GWS and St Kilda. They have picked up their offence, which is key to their success, and Port Adelaide should have a tough time stopping them.

The Power are riding a four-game losing streak, having lost to GWS most recently. It has been a tough stretch for them, but they’re in 15th spot on the AFL ladder, so it has been a struggle for much of the season.

If the likes of Charlie Curnow and Isaac Heeney play well, it should be a demolition job for the Swans. They’re a much better team, and playing at SCG is where they play their best footy.

Charlie Curnow has 3+ goals in four of his last five games, including three last week against St Kilda. He’s a dominant scorer for the Swans, and he should play well against a Port defence that allowed 126 points against Brisbane.

Isaac Heeney kicked two goals against St Kilda, and he could keep that form going. He’s an accurate kicker, and we’re backing him to get a few opportunities on Saturday, so take the $2 odds for 2+ goals.
