Is BetVista a Trustworthy Betting Site?

It certainly appears to be, yes. After all, it’s licensed by Liquor and Gaming NSW, with additional oversight from the NSW Greyhound Welfare and Integrity Commission. The site’s operations are also governed by the South Australian Gambling Codes of Practice

BetVista is built on white-label software supplied by Punterstech. This reputable company works with more than a dozen other Aussie betting companies, including TeamBet, Bet Alpha and Star Sports Australia.

Like all trustworthy and legal betting sites in Australia, BetVista is part of BetStop, the national self-exclusion program. It’s also possible to configure deposit limits, plus account timeouts ranging from one day to a permanent exclusion.

As we mentioned, BetVista uses the popular Punterstech platform, so it might already be familiar to you. Even if it’s not, you won’t have a hard time using it. It’s a classic layout with a left-hand tree of navigation 15 to 20 sports, including a comprehensive horse and greyhound racing section.

It lacks the option to cash bets out early, and you can’t watch any racing. Esports haven’t made it to BetVista yet either. But those relatively minor issues aside, there’s plenty of positives. 

Same Game and Same Race Multis are available, and as you’re about to learn, the odds are generally pretty good.

Not the Best Odds – But Still Good

For Australia’s most popular competitions, including AFL and NRL games, the best odds are consistently found at sites like TAB, Sportsbet and PlayUp. These sites price their win lines to 105%, meaning a 5% edge for the bookie.

BetVista isn’t far behind, though, pricing its AFL and NRL win lines to 106%. This obviously means the odds are generally inferior to those sites, but not by very much. And they’re certainly bigger than many of the country’s newest sites, such as BetReal, who bet to 107.5% on those markets.

Soccer is the only sport where BetVista’s odds lag behind the market – it bets to 115%, even on the world’s biggest games.

While researching our review, we took a look at the App Store and Google Play ratings, to see what other users thought of it. Unfortunately though, there wasn’t much feedback at the time of writing. 

The app remains unrated on Google Play, due to insufficient reviews. App Store users rate the software a solid 3.9 out of 5 – but that score comes from just 20 reviews.

We like BetVista and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. It’s by no means perfect, and would benefit from a few extra features – the ability to stream live races is a good example. But it’s a legal and licensed site that’s reliable and easy to use, with decent odds and market coverage.
