A Brief History of ChromaBet
ChromaBet.com.au launched in October 2024, but its history dates back further. It’s owned by Gavin and Tracey Mansour, a pair of on-course bookmakers that have been licensed in Victoria since at least 2019.
The ChromaBet website is built on the BetCloud platform, which you may recognise if you’ve ever used EpicOdds before. Both sites have a similar look and feel, as they use the same underlying software.
Pros
Low minimum transaction limits Extensive NRL and AFL coverage Fair odds, especially rugby league 24/7 support via live chat and emailCons
Can only deposit by card and EFT Reports of glitches in the iOS appIs ChromaBet a Trustworthy Betting Site?
Yes. Gavin and Tracey Mansour are licensed on-course bookmakers, and the ChromaBet website is also regulated by the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission.
The site’s operations are governed by South Australia’s Responsible Gambling Code of Practice, and it also appears on Racing Victoria’s Approved Wagering Service Providers list.
In addition, ChromaBet applies strict identity verification and geoblocking measures, to help prevent illegal gambling. Plus there’s a set of responsible gambling tools available, including daily limits and temporary breaks, configurable from within your account.
ChromaBet Online Betting Platform Review
It’s time to dig into the ChromaBet.com.au website and assess its odds and features.
Overall, it’s a pretty standard site that checks most of the required boxes. You can build Same Game and Same Race Multis, for example, but you can’t watch live streams. Cashout is available, but esports betting is not.
Competitive NRL Odds
When researching this ChromaBet site review, we were particularly impressed with the NRL rugby league odds. Win lines are priced to around 106%, with some games offering even better value at 105.5%.
If you don’t understand what this means, the short version is that ChromaBet builds a theoretical 6% margin into its NRL prices. Compare that to a newer site like BetReal, for instance, where the margin of 7.5% gives punters less value.
Pointsbet offers the best rugby league odds in Australia just now, with prices fixed around 104.5%, so ChromaBet isn’t far behind.
Other Odds
Rugby league aside, the rest of the ChromaBet odds are a bit of a pot‑luck. Take English Premier League soccer, for example. Prices are set to 109%, which is far worse than Unibet (105.5%) but much better than Pickletbet (115%).
AFL footy matches are priced at 107%, the same as several newer brands on our list of betting sites, such as PandaBet, BetNow and DashBet. But it falls short of the country’s most established bookies, including Sportsbet and CrownBet, which feature low 5% margins.
Market Coverage
ChromaBet doesn’t always offer the most sports. Whenever you visit, there’s rarely more than 15 to choose from, plus a complete horse racing and greyhound betting product. However, the depth of coverage is usually excellent.
We counted just just under 500 betting opportunities per NRL game, for instance, with around 420 per AFL fixture. Even big names like Ladbrokes and Neds only provide around 250 selections on footy games.
Payment Methods at ChromaBet
Although there’s plenty to love about this betting platform, we discovered a huge dud when researching this ChromaBet review. The choice of payment methods is extremely limited.
You can only deposit by EFT or using a Mastercard or Visa debit card, so don’t expect to see Apple Pay, PayPal or anything else. Withdrawals are even more restricted, with bank transfers the only option.
| Payment Method | Deposit | Withdrawal |
| Debit Card | ✅ | ❌ |
| Bank Transfer | ✅ | ✅ |
At least the minimum requirements are fair – it’s just $10 for deposits and withdrawals, and there are no hidden transaction fees involved.
Payout times are quite standard, taking anywhere from 24 to 72 hours, depending on the time of day, and whether or not it’s the weekend.
Is There a ChromaBet Sports Betting App?
There is a ChromaBet Mobile App, but it’s not been around for long, and the early feedback is mixed.
With fewer than 500 downloads at the time of writing, the Android App is currently unrated on Google Play. But the App Store software currently scores a distinctly average 3.4 out of 5.
It’s important to highlight that this score came from just 13 ratings. And most were positive, praising how easy the app is to use and how clean it looks. Perhaps the sample size is still too small to judge fairly.
One notable complaint mentioned frequent crashes. That’s not something that tallied with our own experience, but it’s worth keeping an eye on.
If you end up having problems with the ChromaBet app, we can recommend CrownBet as an alternative. It’s one of the most highly-rated betting apps in Australia.
ChromaBet Promo Codes
There’s no welcome offer here, as Australian gambling regulations prevent bookmakers like ChromaBet from offering bonus codes that incite people to place bets. However, if you log into your account, you’ll see a selection of ongoing promotions for existing customers.
Customer Support at ChromaBet
As we near the conclusion of our ChromaBet betting site review, we’d better discuss the customer support options. There’s no telephone number to call, so you’re limited to email (help@chromabet.com.au) and live chat.
Both are available 24/7, but live chat is your best option if you have an urgent enquiry. You’ll find the agents to be pretty responsive, and always friendly.
We waited just a couple of minutes for a reply when putting them to the test. More importantly, they managed to answer our questions correctly.

ChromaBet – Final Verdict
We were initially put off by the ugly colour scheme of the ChromaBet website. Yes, that’s the whole schtick, hence “add some colour to your betslip” and the site’s name. But honestly, the vibrant greens and blues hurt our eyes against the black background.
Still, we eventually got past that, aided mostly by what turns out to be extensive coverage of the country’s most popular sports and competitions. Other green flags include 24/7 support, low minimum transaction limits, and taking responsible gambling seriously.
The odds aren’t bad, but it’s a mixed bag. NRL prices are right up there, but cricket and footy are average. Some sports – soccer in particular – aren’t so hot, although those prices still aren’t as bad as many other sites.
We’d definitely recommend taking a look at Chromabet, especially if you enjoy betting on rugby.
