A Brief History of WizBet

WizBet.com.au is owned and operated by Wizbet Pty Ltd, a company registered in July 2024 with ABN 68 679 198 139. However, the website didn’t launch until February 2025.

It’s not entirely clear who’s behind Wizbet Pty Ltd. The company is privately owned, with no apparent affiliation to any other betting sites. Whoever the founders are, the website claims they “trace their roots in the bookmaking industry back over 20 years”.

We’ve seen other reviews speculating about its ownership – bookmakers James and Nathan Early are commonly suggested – but we weren’t able to verify these claims.

Is WizBet a Trustworthy Betting Site?

Yes. Despite the lack of information about the owners, several things give us cause to trust Wizbet. The first is the licence – this bookie is regulated by the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission. Its operations also follow the South Australian Gambling Codes of Practice.

Another consideration is the software used by Wizbet – both the sports betting app and website are built on the Punterstech platform. This white-label software is trusted by more than 20 other bookies in Australia, including BetBlitz and Star Sports Australia.

Finally, as all legal and licensed betting sites are, Wizbet is part of the national self-exclusion scheme, BetStop.

WizBet Online Betting Platform Review

Okay, it’s time to get stuck into the meat of this WizBet betting site review, as we assess the platform itself. It’s split into two parts:

  • Racing. A comprehensive product, complete with horses, dogs and harness racing. You’ll find detailed form guides, speed maps, competitive odds and a handy black book feature for tracking selections.
  • Sports. This section boasts anywhere from 15 to 20 sports, depending on the time of year. The odds are generally competitive, while the number of betting markets per game is fairly average.

Limited Features

We’ve certainly seen more advanced betting platforms in Australia. Wizbet doesn’t have a cashout facility, for example, to let you lock in profits early, or salvage losing bets. There’s no option to watch live streams of racing or sports, either.

This is the one downside of a white-label platform. Although the operator can guarantee users a positive experience in terms of navigation and transactions, it’s not easy to add new features.

Solid AFL and NRL Odds

The odds are generally good, but it depends on the sport in question. If we’re talking about things your average Aussie cares most about – footy, NRL games and cricket, for instance – then WizBet is right up there.

AFL win lines are priced to 106% – that means a 6% theoretical cut for the bookmaker. The lowest we’ve seen in Australia is 5%, so these odds are not far off the best in the country.

It’s the same for NRL games, but the biggest T20 cricket games are usually priced closer to 8% for. Still, that’s not far behind the country’s top betting sites.

Even some less popular sports, like soccer, are pretty competitive – Champions League and English Premier League matches are also priced to 108%. If you want better soccer odds, you need a major international brand like Ladbrokes or Unibet.

Payment Methods at WizBet

There’s not exactly a wide variety of payment options at WizBet, as the below table illustrates:

Payment MethodDepositWithdrawal
Debit Card
Apple Pay
PayID
Bank Transfer

The minimum deposit requirement is $10 – pretty low compared to most Australian bookmakers. However, you’ll need at least $20 to withdraw.

Payout requests are processed three times a day, at 9.30am, 1.30pm and 5.30pm, seven days a week. Transfers may require up to 48 hours to complete for some banks. But it’s not unusual to be paid on the same day, if your request is early enough.

WizBet Mobile Betting App Review

The WizBet mobile app is one of the highest rated out there. On Google Play, it scored 4.7 out of 5 when compiling this review, with a similar 4.5 rating in the App Store.

User feedback commonly cites fast payouts and good odds as positives, along with the daily promotions. We agree, but would add that the mobile betslip is well thought out and highly intuitive. Generally, the app is very easy to find your way around.

WizBet Promo Codes

Many of you will have found this WizBet review while searching for the latest bonus codes. Sadly, that’s not really a thing – there’s certainly no welcome bonus code for new players. That said, regular users benefit from daily promotions in what’s called the “Wiz Kit”.

Rather than deposit match offers – which are not legal to advertise in Australia, these tend to be other tools for punters, but you’ll have to log in to your account to see which personalised offers are available to you.

Customer Support at WizBet

Got an issue with your WizBet account? No problem – drop an email to support@wizbet.com.au, or reach out to the live chat agents.

The latter are standing by to help from 9am to 10pm. Contact them after hours, and it won’t be picked up until the morning. Emails usually require around 24 hours to receive a reply. But at the busiest times of year, it could take up to three working days.

There’s no telephone support, but you can call 0485 920 433 if you need to close your account.

WizBet Site Review – Final Verdict

So, did WizBet successfully manage to bring us under its spell? Yes – to a point.

It certainly offers a website and mobile app that are easy to use, thanks to its collaboration with Punterstech. On the other hand, the software is missing some of the latest features, like in-play betting, live streams and cashout.

For the most part, the odds are very good, and they’re definitely towards the top end of the market. But you can definitely find better at the country’s biggest-name operators.

The speedy payout times are a highlight, but it would benefit from additional payment options.

Overall, it’s an above-average betting site, and a strong choice for your average Aussie punter. But it needs a few tweaks to elevate it to elite status.
