Over/under bets are bets on whether the combined score of a match will go over/under the total. Over/under in some sports works a little bit differently – like in tennis, the over/under is for the total number of games in a tennis match, and in boxing and UFC, the over/under is the total number of rounds.
It is important to understand the rules of the different types of over/under betting; for example, over/under betting in soccer includes the result at 90 minutes, and any goals scored during extra time or penalty shootouts do not count towards your over/under bet.
You will almost always see a .5 to rule out the event of a draw (dead heat rules do not apply). In rare cases, you may see a whole number offered in over/under markets, and in the event of a “drawn” over/under bet, the bet is considered a “push” and all bets are void (refunded).
You’ll often see our GoBet tipsters use the over/under market when we think head-to-head or lines are too tight to call or have little value.
