What Does TT+ Mean in Betting?

TT+ means Top Tote Plus, which means you will get the highest return out of the three TAB totes (NSW, VIC and QLD) or the starting price (SP). TT+ is available for Australian racing only.

Exotic bets such as Quinellas, Trifectas, First-Fours, and Quaddies are always tote bets. Most online bookmakers offer the best of three tote payouts on exotic bets (except TAB), so it’s always a good idea to use online bookies for them.

You should check your bookies’ Ts&Cs before placing your exotics because some of them limit the total payouts on these types of bets to only $5k to $20k – which will really hurt if you hit a big one like a Melbourne Cup first four!

Is TT+ better than Tote?

Yes, because TT+ gives you the best payout of all three TAB totes, you are maximising your returns compared to being stuck with a single tote.

For example, a couple of years ago we picked the first four in a Saturday Highway race in Sydney. We put the bet on through the QLD tote, and it returned around $2k, but the tote payouts in NSW and VIC were over $22k! We missed out on $20k for not betting Top Tote Plus.
