Manchester City took a potentially decisive step towards the Premier League title with an impressive win at defending champions Liverpool last time out. Manchester United remain in the hunt but their draw at home to Everton could prove costly, whilst Leicester were held on the road at Wolves. Chelsea continued their winning streak at Sheffield United and Tottenham got back to winning ways at the expense of West Bromwich Albion. It is heading towards the business end of the campaign and it promises to be another action-packed weekend of fixtures.
Here are our picks for the next round of fixtures in the Premier League:
EPL Week 24 Tips
Leicester City vs Liverpool – King Power Stadium
Leicester City ($3.65)
Two sides battling it out at the top of the Premier League face off as Leicester City host defending champions Liverpool. The Foxes have been a pillar of consistency in the Premier League this season – reflected by their league position of 3rd. A late Kelechi Iheanacho goal saw them progress to the last 8 of the FA Cup in midweek and they should be confident heading into this one. Liverpool meanwhile are going through a tough spell, having lost their last 3 Premier League home games and the manner of the defeat to Manchester City last time out was a concern. They do tend to play their best stuff away from home however and should pick up a much-needed win here at a Leicester side they generally have too much for.
Betting tip: Liverpool to win the match ($2.16) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Liverpool to win 3-1
Crystal Palace vs Burnley – Selhurst Park
Crystal Palace ($2.46)
Two sides looking to climb up into the top half of the Premier League table face off as Crystal Palace welcome Burnley. The Eagles were well beaten by Leeds last time out and their inconsistency has been halting any progress for the Palace this season – who sit 13th in the table as a result. Burnley meanwhile are in the midst of a strong run that has seen them climb the Premier League table to 17th – 8 points clear of relegation trouble. The job is not done for the Clarets yet though and they will need to keep picking up points. This could be a tight game, with a draw looking the most likely result at Selhurst Park.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.25) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Manchester City vs Tottenham – Etihad Stadium
Manchester City ($1.35)
Manchester City are hoping to continue their 15-game winning streak in all competitions as they welcome Tottenham to the Etihad Stadium. City have a 5-point gap to the chasing pack in the Premier League title race and they will be looking to keep that run going for as long as possible. Tottenham are sure to provide a stern test for City and Jose Mourinho revels in his role as party pooper – adding a sense of drama to the occasion. Tottenham’s form has been indifferent this season and their FA Cup defeat to Everton in midweek was seemingly another chink in the armour. This could be tighter than people expect, and Spurs could well pinch a point.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.6) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Brighton vs Aston Villa – AMEX Stadium
Aston Villa ($2.62)
Brighton host Aston Villa in what promises to be an intriguing battle between two of the most entertaining sides in the division. The Seagulls have only lost once in the Premier League since the turn of the year and look to get the ball down and play. Their home form has been a disappointment this term, but they will be looking to put that right here. Aston Villa meanwhile are very much in the mix for a European place come the end of the season and their 1-0 win over Arsenal last time out epitomised their progress this term. Dean Smith has his side playing excellent football and they will want to take the game to Brighton here. The Seagulls are a decent side in good form, but Villa should leave with all three points in the bag here.
Betting tip: Aston Villa to win the match ($2.62) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Aston Villa to win 2-1
Southampton vs Wolves – St Mary’s Stadium
Two sides that did battle in the FA Cup in midweek face off again as Southampton host Wolves. Saints prevailed in the cup and they will be full of confidence heading into this one. They have put a sticky period behind them it seems and will have all eyes on a top half finish. Wolves meanwhile are a side in freefall and look as if they need a spark. The FA Cup exit now means they only have the Premier League to play for and their standing of 14th will be frustrating for their fans. This could be a very tight game, but Southampton look to have the momentum and should edge this one.
Betting tip: Southampton to win the match ($2.5) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Southampton to win 2-1
West Bromwich Albion vs Manchester United – The Hawthorns
West Bromwich Albion ($11)
Manchester United ($1.34)
Manchester United will be looking to close the gap on Manchester City above them as they travel to West Bromwich Albion. The Baggies are struggling for form at the foot of the table and look to have a mountain to climb if they are to survive this term. They are 11-points from safety and need to start picking up points quickly. Manchester United meanwhile will be reeling from their late draw with Everton and will be all too aware of the importance of this game in the title race. They are in good form generally though and should prevail comfortably in this one.
Betting tip: Manchester United to win the match ($1.34) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Manchester United to win 3-0
Arsenal vs Leeds United – Emirates Stadium
Leeds United ($4.2)
Two of the most unpredictable sides in the division face off as Arsenal host Leeds. The Gunners have improved in recent weeks under Mikel Arteta but still look to have a big job to do if they are to challenge the sides in the top 4 this season. Leeds meanwhile reside in 10th and have been a breath of fresh air in the Premier League this season. They will look to get the ball down and take the game to Arsenal from the outset in what could be a superb encounter. Leeds will be confident, but Arsenal are a good side, especially at home and they should come out on top here.
Betting tip: Arsenal to win the match ($1.96) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Arsenal to win 3-1
Everton vs Fulham – Goodison Park
Everton host Fulham as they look to keep themselves in the race for a top 4 finish at the end of the season. The Toffees are going through an inconsistent spell but are still in the mix to play Champions League football next term and are through to the last 8 of the FA Cup. Fulham meanwhile remain in the drop zone and look to have a big job on their hands to get out of trouble. They are the ‘draw specialists’ in the league – having drawn half of their fixtures and they will make life tough for Everton. The blues are a good side though and they should come out on top here.
Betting tip: Everton to win the match ($1.96) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Everton to win 2-0
West Ham United vs Sheffield United – London Olympic Stadium
West Ham United ($1.77)
Sheffield United ($5.6)
High-flying West Ham United host bottom side Sheffield United in what promises to be an excellent game at the Olympic Stadium. The Hammers are in great nick and find themselves 6th in the table – very much in the mix for European football come the end of the campaign. Sheffield United meanwhile have been improving in recent weeks, but such was their poor start to the season that they still remain bottom of the pile. They reached the last 8 of the FA Cup in midweek and should arrive confident here but West Ham should have too much about them in this one.
Betting tip: West Ham United to win the match ($1.77) – Bet @ Sportsbet
West Ham United to win 3-1
Chelsea vs Newcastle United – Stamford Bridge
Newcastle United ($14)
Thomas Tuchel will be hoping his Chelsea revolution continues as his side welcomes Newcastle United to Stamford Bridge. The blues are unbeaten since Tuchel took the hotseat and reached the FA Cup quarter finals in midweek at the expense of Championship side Barnsley. Newcastle meanwhile continue to churn out the occasional result under Steve Bruce and have a 10-point gap to the relegation zone below them. This should be a one-sided affair and Chelsea should win comfortably at home here.
Betting tip: Chelsea to win the match to nil ($1.8) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Chelsea to win 2-0
