2019/20 Bundesliga Matchday 31 – Preview, Expert Betting Tips & Odds

Following their comeback win on the road at Bayer Leverkusen last time out, Bayer Leverkusen look to have the Bundesliga title all but wrapped up. The champions have a 7-point lead with just 4 games to play and look to be in full control. Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig will both be hoping to keep putting pressure on and secure their own top 4 finishes whilst Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen all separated by just goal difference in pursuit of 4th place. At the bottom of the table, poor results last time out for Werder Bremen and Paderborn look to have consigned them both to the drop whilst Fortuna Dusseldorf are now three points behind Mainz, as they too look to navigate a route to safety.

2019/20 Bundesliga Matchday 31 Preview

Hoffenheim vs RB Leipzig – Rhein Neckar Arena

Hoffenheim ($6.5)

RB Leipzig ($1.47)

Draw ($5.5)

It’s 7th vs 3rd in the Friday night Bundesliga game as Hoffenheim take on RB Leipzig. Hosts Hoffenheim have only lost once since the restart but remain in 7th and a late push for the Europa league places looks very much on the cards, with 7 points acquired from their last 3 outings. RB Leipzig meanwhile have struggled for consistency since the season restart and their 1-1 home draw with Paderborn last weekend was testament to that. They are in the driving seat for a top 4 finish and will be eager to finish the campaign strongly. This could be a tighter game than many anticipate but RB Leipzig should just about prevail.

Betting tip: RB Leipzig to win the match and both teams to score ($2.35) Bet Now

RB Leipzig to win 2-1

FC Koln vs Union Berlin vs – Rhein Energie Stadion

FC Koln ($2.05)

Union Berlin ($3.8)

Draw ($3.6)

Two sides yet to absolutely secure their Bundesliga status next season face off as FC Koln host Union Berlin. Hosts Koln sit 12th in the table, 7 points clear of the drop zone but are winless since the season recommenced back in mid-May and they will be keen to start putting points on the board. Similarly, Union Berlin haven’t managed to win a game since returning from the imposed break either and with only a 4-point gap between themselves and the drop zone, they could have an anxious end to the season. Both sides need to keep picking up points as they look to secure their safety and it could well end up honours even.

Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.6) Bet Now

1-1 Draw

Fortuna Dusseldorf vs Borussia Dortmund – Espirit Arena

Fortuna Dusseldorf ($8.5)

Borussia Dortmund ($1.4)

Draw ($5.5)

Fortuna Dusseldorf host Borussia Dortmund with both sides needing points for different reasons. The hosts are 3-points adrift from safety with 4 games to play and having only lost once since the season restart (to Bayern Munich) they look to be putting a decent survival bid together. Borussia Dortmund meanwhile have struggled for rhythm since returning to action and their laboured win over Hertha Berlin last time out was testament to that. They are 7 points behind Bayern Munich and need to keep picking up points to apply a modicum of pressure. This could be a fiery encounter in Dusseldorf, which Dortmund should just about come out on top from.

Betting tip: Borussia Dortmund to win the match and both teams to score ($2) Bet Now

Borussia Dortmund to win 3-1

Hertha Berlin vs Eintracht Frankfurt – Olympic Stadium

Hertha Berlin ($2.13)

Eintracht Frankfurt ($3.8)

Draw ($3.4)

A classic mid table encounter looks to be on the cards in Berlin as 9th placed Hertha Berlin take on 11th placed Eintracht Frankfurt. The hosts have been in fantastic form since returning to action, picking up 10 points from a possible 15 since the season restart and they were unlucky to come away from Dortmund last weekend empty handed. Frankfurt meanwhile reside in 11th but the manner of their home defeat to Mainz last weekend will be a little concerning. They will be looking to bounce back here but Hertha are in good form and should secure a home win.

Betting tip: Hertha Berlin to win the match ($2.13) Bet Now

Hertha Berlin to win 2-0

Paderborn vs Werder Bremen – Benteler Arena

Paderborn ($3.15)

Werder Bremen ($2.25)

Draw ($3.28)

A classic relegation battle looks on the cards as Paderborn host Werder Bremen. It’s now or never for Paderborn who are 11 points from safety, with only 12 points to play for and they look to have it all to do. They picked up a respectable draw at RB Leipzig last weekend, but relegation looks to be inevitable. Similarly, Werder Bremen are in a world of trouble too, with a 6-point gap between themselves and absolute survival. Consecutive defeats to Eintracht Frankfurt and Wolfsburg have stalled any progress and they will need a win here to have any hope of staying up. Neither side will be full of confidence, but Werder Bremen still have a glimmer of survival hope and a win here could galvanise the end of their season.

Betting tip: Werder Bremen to win the match ($2.25) Bet Now

Werder Bremen to win 2-1

Wolfsburg vs SC Freiburg – Volkswagen Arena

Wolfsburg ($1.8)

SC Freiburg ($4.8)

Draw ($4)

Two sides wrapped up in the battle for Europa League football next season face off as Wolfsburg host Freiburg. Sitting pretty in 6th, Wolfsburg have picked up 9 points in the 5 matches since the season restarted and are in pole position to claim a Europa League spot. They showed real resilience to win at Werder Bremen last time out and although inconsistency has plagued Wolfsburg’s season, they will want to finish the season strongly.  Visitors Freiburg have only won one game since returning to action, but they look to be safe from relegation danger, currently sitting 8th in the table and the manner of that win over Borussia Monchengladbach last weekend is sure to give them confidence. This should be a good game which Wolfsburg should just about prevail from.

Betting tip: Wolfsburg to win the match and both teams to score ($2.5) Bet Now

Wolfsburg to win 2-1

Bayern Munich vs Borussia Monchengladbach – Allianz Arena

Bayern Munich ($1.37)

Borussia Monchengladbach ($8.5)

Draw ($5.6)

With only 4 games of the season remaining, Bayern Munich will be looking to hold their nerve, with their 7-point advantage looking very strong. They showed real resilience to come from behind to win at Bayer Leverkusen last time out and they are a side brimming with confidence. Monchengladbach meanwhile will be looking to get their top 4 pursuit back on track, following a disappointing loss at Freiburg last weekend. The visitors still sit 4th, but only on goal difference and they will be hoping they don’t lose too much ground here. Borussia Monchengladbach are never a side to lie down and accept defeat, but Bayern are in great form and should have no issues at home here.

Betting tip: Bayern Munich to win the match and both teams to score ($2) Bet Now

Bayern Munich to win 3-1

Mainz 05 vs Augsburg – Opel Arena

Mainz 05 ($2.33)

Augsburg ($3.1)

Draw ($3.52)

Two sides battling for their Bundesliga lives face off as Mainz host Augsburg. Sat in 15th, Mainz are in real danger of slipping into the relegation zone but their impressive 2-0 win on the road at Eintracht Frankfurt last weekend has given them some breathing space. They have a 3-point gap to the sides in the drop zone below them and they will be eager to stretch that here. Visitors Augsburg sit just one point above Mainz and they too will be looking over their shoulder for the remaining 4 league fixtures. This should be tight and with both sides desperate not to lose, a draw looks on the cards here.

Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.52) Bet Now

1-1 Draw

Schalke vs Bayer Leverkusen – Veltins Arena

Schalke ($6)

Bayer Leverkusen ($1.57)

Draw ($4.5)

The final Bundesliga fixture of the round promises to be a fiery encounter as Schalke host Bayer Leverkusen. Schalke have only picked up one point from their first 5 since returning to action and having dropped down to 10th in the table, the pressure appears to be building on David Wagner’s side. Bayer Leverkusen meanwhile are looking to pace with Borussia Monchengladbach in the race for a Champions League slot. Their defeat to Bayern Munich last weekend was expected and having wrapped up a place in the DFB Cup final in midweek, they should be full of confidence. Schalke will make life hard for Leverkusen, but the visitors should pick up all three points here.
