The college basketball season continues in the US with three quality games this Monday.
We have college basketball betting predictions for Rutgers vs. Indiana, Notre Dame vs. Miami, Nevada vs. Wyoming.
Punters have been loving the college action, so let’s see which teams you should bet on this Monday.
Monday College Basketball Picks
Rutgers Scarlet Knights vs. Indiana Hoosiers @ Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall
Two quality Big Ten Conference teams do battle on Monday, as Rutgers (7-6) takes on Indiana (9-6).
Rutgers started the season on fire and it was a nationally-ranked team, but times have changed. The Scarlet Knights have dropped their last six games, but many of those have come against tough opposition.
Rutgers started the season with six consecutive wins, including one over Illinois. Recent losses have come to Iowa, Michigan State and Wisconsin – all ranked teams.
Indiana is another tough test for Rutgers, following a huge upset win over Iowa. The Hoosiers scored an 81-69 thrashing over the top-three ranked Iowa Hawkeyes, and it should give them a massive boost this season.
Punters could look to that game and automatically believe Indiana will win again, but there are reasons why Rutgers could keep this game close.
Indiana needs to come down from the high of beating Iowa, and Rutgers are desperate for success. Both are reasons why this game could be more competitive than expected.
Bookmakers have Indiana as the $1.43 favourites. We are not surprised at those odds, but take Rutgers with the +4.5 head start. They are good enough to keep this game close.
Bet: Rutgers +4.5 @ $1.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. Miami Hurricanes @ Watsco Center
It hasn’t been the superb season we’re used to seeing from Notre Dame and Miami, but it makes for an intriguing game on Monday.
The Fighting Irish are 4-8 after beating Boston College 80-70 last week. It was an improved performance following four consecutive losses to the likes of North Carolina and Virginia.
Miami is 6-7 following a poor 83-57 loss to Syracuse. They weren’t able to handle the zone defense, which could be used by Notre Dame.
Consistency has been tough for Miami, but they looked excellent when beating Louisville 78-72 last week. It’s those performances that makes the Hurricanes tough to beat on any given day.
However, prior to that game Miami suffered an 84-62 loss to Boston College, the same team Notre Dame has just comfortably beaten.
Statistically, there isn’t too much between them. Notre Dame scores an average of 71.2 points and allows 74.6 points. Miami scores 67.4 points and allows 68 points per game.
The difference could come in the little things Miami does well, which is rebounding, blocks, and steals. The Hurricanes dominate those statistics compared to Notre Dame, so look for the defense to ramp up on Monday.
Bookmakers have Miami as the $1.69 favourites, which is a value price for the home side.
Bet: Miami to win @ $1.69 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Nevada Wolf Pack vs. Wyoming Cowboys @ Arena Auditorium
Nevada has shown glimpses of quality form this season, and the 10-6 team could get back to winning ways.
The Wolf Pack is coming off a loss to Wyoming, and they will have redemption on their minds. It was their sixth loss of the season after scoring back-to-back wins over Fresno.
Nevada has improved steadily over the last few years, and they have made deep runs during March Madness in the past. However, Wyoming is steadily making ground.
The Cowboys suffered three consecutive losses before beating Air Force and Nevada last week. The seven-point win over Nevada is a good form guide for this game.
The home side has more confidence than the visitors, but winning consecutive games against Nevada isn’t easy. The Wolf Pack have a team capable of scoring a double-digit win on Monday.
Most of the early money has come for Nevada to exact its revenge on Wyoming. We wouldn’t be surprised to see Nevada square up the series and bridge the gap between them and Boise State in the Mountain West Conference.
Bet: Nevada Wolf Pack to win – Bet @ Sportsbet
