We are loving the college football action and punters get a full card of games available on Sunday.

We look at Oregon vs Ohio State, Iowa vs Iowa State and Texas vs Arkansas. All six teams are expected to have successful seasons, so it should be a terrific day of NCAAF action.

Sunday College Football Picks

Oregon Ducks vs Ohio State Buckeyes @ Ohio Stadium

The Ohio State Buckeyes were anything but convincing when beating Minnesota last week, but the third-ranked team did enough to win.

The Buckeyes are expected to make the college football playoffs again, but getting past Oregon is needed, otherwise the dream could be over.

Oregon comes off a 31-24 win over Fresno State, so it’s another team with something to prove in Week 2. The Ducks looked to have the game in command in the first half, but Fresno State did well on offence in the second half.

Bookmakers are giving Oregon a 14.5-point start, which is a healthy start. We think the Ducks are good enough to keep this game close and force the Buckeyes to produce the goods late in the game once again.

We expect this time to firm throughout the week to around 13.5, so lock in the two-touchdown head start.

Bet: Oregon Ducks +14.5 @ $1.88Bet @ Sportsbet

Iowa Hawkeyes vs Iowa State Cyclones @ Jack Trice Stadium

We think there is excellent value with the Iowa Hawkeyes, who are paying $2.59 to beat their cross-town rival Iowa State.

The Hawkeyes looked good last week when beating Indiana 34-6, so we’re not sure why bookmakers are in favour of the visitors.

Iowa State got the better of Northern Iowa by only six points, so there was nothing comprehensive about that performance.

Both teams rely on a strong running game, and we give the edge to Iowa. Tyler Goodson ran for 99 yards and one touchdown in the 28-point victory, which will give him confidence.

The Hawkeyes got the job done for us last week, so we’re not going to jump off their backs. We were impressed with the performance, in what was a tough matchup.

We always respect the bookmakers’ odds, but we think they have got his game around the wrong way. Take the $2.59 for Iowa to remain undefeated, and the 10th ranked team in the nation should improve their ranking this week.

Bet: Iowa Hawkeyes to win @ $2.59Bet @ Sportsbet

Texas Longhorns vs Arkansas Razorbacks @ Razorback Stadium

Texas showed why it’s a nationally ranked team when beating the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns last week by 20 points. The 38-18 was a tidy effort against Louisiana, which was well-fancied to do well this season.

The Longhorns might have found their next star quarterback with Hudson Card, who went 14-21 for 224 yards and two touchdowns.

Opposing quarterback KJ Jefferson didn’t quite have the same impressive line against Rice. He went 12-21 for one touchdown and an interception, but it didn’t cost Arkansas in the 38-17 win.

Rice isn’t much of an opponent, so the level of opposition increases significantly on Sunday. Arkansas will need to be much better to avoid going to 1-1.

Bookmakers have Texas at $1.32 to win in head-to-head betting lines. It’s -7.5 in spread markets, which makes things interesting. Texas can score a big win but playing in Arkansas won’t be easy for this young team.

Most of the money has come for the Razorbacks to cover the spread, and we agree. 7.5 points is a lot for the home team to receive, and we think it will be a one touchdown game either way.

Bet: Arkansas Razorbacks +7.5 @ $1.81Bet @ Sportsbet
