Relaunched in February 2026, CrownBet is once again accepting bets in Australia. Given how recently the site reappeared, it’s still missing a few features. But the brand is now run by Betfair Australia, in partnership with BetMakers and Crown Resorts, so there’s a huge amount of potential.
Our CrownBet review runs through the existing site’s strengths and weaknesses, discussing everything from the odds and betting markets, to the mobile app, customer support and promotions. Keep reading to learn more.

A Brief History of CrownBet
Having opened in February 2026, it’s tempting to list CrownBet among the newest betting sites in Australia. But it’s not quite as simple as that – the brand’s history dates all the way back to BetEzy, which launched online in 2005.
That particular business was acquired by Matthew Tripp, the well-known Aussie gambling entrepreneur, in 2014. Under his stewardship, the site was rebranded as BetEasy. But in 2015, Crown Resorts purchased a majority stake and shook things up again, renaming the platform CrownBet.
Further Rebrands and Mergers
A couple of years later, The Stars Group bought CrownBet, changing the name back to BetEasy in August 2018. Next, a merger with Sportsbet followed in 2020, and we assumed that would be the last we ever saw of the CrownBet brand.
However, in February 2026, the name rose like a phoenix from the ashes. Betfair Australia now operates the site, in partnership with BetMakers and with the support of Crown Resorts.
Pros
Competitive odds on all your favourite sports Fast payouts via several popular methods Operated by big-name Aussie companies Highly-rated Android and iOS mobile appsCons
Daily support available from 9am to 5pm Missing features like streaming and cashoutIs CrownBet a Trustworthy Betting Site?
Absolutely. First of all, CrownBet is licensed by the Northern Territory Racing and Wagering Commission. The site also adheres to the South Australian Responsible Gambling Code of Practice.
Although the newly-launched site is nowhere near as established as brands like Ladbrokes, we do know a lot about the people behind it.
On the betting side, Betfair Australia is in charge, with the technology coming from the BetMakers Technology Group. Crown Resorts, meanwhile, is one of the biggest entertainment brands in the country.
CrownBet Online Betting Platform Review
So, what does the new-look CrownBet actually offer? Well, you’ll find more than 20 sports, including all of the country’s biggest competitions, like the AFL and NRL.
There’s also a comprehensive racebook, with greyhounds and harness racing alongside traditional thoroughbred betting. Meetings from all over the world are available, like Hong Kong and the UK.
At the moment, there’s no option to bet on esports. That’s something the old CrownBet used to provide, and that Betfair Australia still does, so we hope to see some in future. After all, even Colossalbet – one of our least favourite betting sites in Australia – features some esports markets.
Impressive Odds
Believe us when we say CrownBet boasts some of the best odds in the country. We know you’ve heard that a million times before in other betting site reviews, but honestly – we’ve done the maths.
The table below compares the “Match Winner” overround of several leading bookmakers in four key categories. CrownBet consistently offers the smallest bookmaker margins, giving you the most value.
| Aussie Betting Site | AFL | NRL | EPL | T20 Internationals |
| CrownBet | 105% | 105% | 107.5% | 105% |
| Neds | 106% | 106% | 106.5% | 105.5% |
| Sportsbet | 105% | 105% | 105.5% | 106% |
| TAB | 105% | 105.5% | 107% | 106% |
| PlayUp | 105.5% | 105.5% | 107.5% | 105% |
Hit and Miss on Betting Platform Features
Although the platform is intuitive and really easy to use, with a crisp, clean interface, a few important features are still missing. For example, at the time of writing this review, CrownBet lacks any sort of live betting, cashout or streaming.
On this point, I’ve read other reviews stating CrownBet lets you watch AFL games when using the app. However, I’ve never seen that service – I suspect those articles are out of date and probably refer to the old CrownBet.
You can, at least, create Same Race Multis and Same Game Multis – an essential feature for any modern sports betting site. Another cool feature is the Race Lab, which provides in-depth tips and form analysis.
Payment Methods at CrownBet
In the next part of our CrownBet betting site review, we’ll take a look at the various deposit and withdrawal options. Let’s start with a table summarizing the options:
| Payment Method | Deposit | Withdrawal |
| Debit Card | ✅ | ✅ |
| PayID | ✅ | ✅ |
| Apple Pay | ✅ | ❌ |
| Google Pay | ✅ | ❌ |
| PayID | ✅ | ✅ |
| Bank Transfer | ❌ | ✅ |
The minimum deposit requirement is just $10, though you can actually wager as little as $0.50 at CrownBet. Whichever method you choose, there are no transaction fees.
Withdrawals may be processed in as little as two hours when using PayID. We’ve seen payouts completed within four hours even on Saturdays. However, card payments may take anywhere from 72 hours and five business days.
Is There a CrownBet Mobile App?
Yes. There’s a CrownBet sports betting app for both Android and iOS platforms, and they’re already proving a hit. Although the software is still pretty new, both apps seem free of bugs and glitches, earning positive ratings from real players.
At the time of writing, 44 Google Play users had scored the Android version 4.5 out of 5. Meanwhile, 260 App Store reviews earn the iOS software a 4.6 rating.
Admittedly, it’s still early days for CrownBet, and this is a very small sample size. Still, you can’t argue with the facts – the new platform is off to a great start.
CrownBet Promo Codes
You won’t find any CrownBet bonus codes due to Australia’s strict rules around the marketing of gambling products. The site does still run some promotions though – log into your account and you’ll see which promotions or offers are available to you.
Customer Support at CrownBet.com.au
We’re nearing the end of our CrownBet site review, but there’s still time to squeeze in a mention of the support team.
The live chat agents are extremely helpful and friendly, so it’s a shame they’re only available from 9am to 5pm. Should you have a problem outside of those hours, you’ll have to email support@crownbet.com.au – there’s no telephone number to call.

CrownBet.com.au – Final Verdict
The jury’s still out for the recently relaunched CrownBet sports betting site, but it’s certainly off to a promising start. We found fewer sports available for betting than other Aussie bookies, but when it comes to cricket, NRL and AFL, few can match this site’s odds.
I’d like to see more withdrawal options, but the existing ones usually provide speedy payouts in less than half a day. Similarly, the support team is excellent – they’re just not around often enough.
Those who remember the old CrownBet will enjoy the familiar site layout and branding. And the new app is surprisingly good. With a few simple additions, this betting site could become a force to be reckoned with. For the time being, though, it’s just a solid all-rounder.
