Proceedings continue to tighten at the top of the Premier League table as Liverpool, Tottenham, Chelsea, and Leicester all dropped points last weekend. These results paved the way for both Manchester clubs to make up ground and they did so with wins over Burnley (for City) and Southampton (for United) respectively. At the bottom of the table, West Brom got off the mark with a gutsy win over fellow strugglers Sheffield United whilst Fulham picked up an impressive win at Leicester to strengthen their survival claim.
Here are our picks for the next round of fixtures in the Premier League:
EPL Week 11 Tips
Burnley vs Everton – Turf Moor
Two sides looking to get back to winning ways face off as Burnley take on Everton at Turf Moor. The Clarets were thumped by Manchester City last time out and look to be missing their passionate home support. With only one win to their name all season, they need to start picking up points consistently and quickly. Everton meanwhile are fading fast following an excellent start to the campaign. The manner of their home defeat to Leeds was particularly humbling last weekend and Carlo Ancelotti will want to see a response from his men here. This could be a lot tighter game than many expect but Everton should just about nick it.
Betting tip: Everton to win the match ($2.05) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Everton to win 2-1
Manchester City vs Fulham – Etihad Stadium
Manchester City ($1.13)
Manchester City will be looking to cap a good week as they welcome Fulham to the Etihad. The blues thumped Burnley last weekend to get back to winning ways and their gutsy draw in Porto in midweek sealed their route to the knockout stages of the Champions League as group winners. Fulham meanwhile should be buoyant on arrival in Manchester, having beaten Leicester on Monday night and they will be all too aware of the magnitude of the task facing them here. Fulham could pose City defensive problems, but the blues are excellent at home generally and should prevail with ease here.
Betting tip: Manchester City to win the match to nil ($1.55) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Manchester City to win 3-0
West Ham United vs Manchester United – London Olympic Stadium
West Ham United ($3.75)
Manchester United ($2.1)
West Ham will be looking to continue their ascent up the Premier League table as they take on Manchester United. The Hammers fought hard to see off Aston Villa on Monday night and look to be a side going places, with David Moyes’s men currently residing in 5th. Manchester United meanwhile produced a comeback of old to beat Southampton 3-2 last weekend, but their defensive issues continue to rear their ugly heads. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be all too aware of the job he still has to do but will be pleased with his sides’ character. This should be a tight game with Manchester United most likely to nick it.
Betting tip: Manchester United to win the match ($2.1) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Manchester United to win 2-1
Chelsea vs Leeds – Stamford Bridge
A classic Premier League rivalry is reignited as Chelsea host Leeds at Stamford Bridge. Frank Lampard’s men are flying in both the Premier League and Champions League this term and look to be a side capable of winning trophies this year. With attacking talent all over the pitch, they will be looking to go for it from the off here. Leeds meanwhile are more than pulling their weight in the Premier League and their win at Everton last weekend was testament to that. This should be a really good game with Chelsea the most likely side to run out as winners.
Betting tip: Chelsea to win the match and both teams to score ($2.6) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Chelsea to win 3-1
West Bromwich Albion vs Crystal Palace – The Hawthorns
West Bromwich Albion ($2.95)
Crystal Palace ($2.65)
West Bromwich Albion will be looking to build on their first win of the season as they host Crystal Palace. The Baggies beat Sheffield Untied last weekend to get off the mark for the season and look to be growing in confidence under Slavan Bilic. Crystal Palace meanwhile cannot find any consistency this season and their defeat at home to Newcastle last Friday evening magnified exactly that. They do play their best football away from home though and could hurt West Brom on the counter in this one. This should be a really good game with the draw looking the most likely result.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.2) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Sheffield United vs Leicester City – Bramall Lane
Sheffield United ($4)
Leicester City ($2)
Winless Sheffield United take on Leicester City, who themselves need to bounce back from a disappointing showing last time out. The Blades are rock bottom of the Premier League table and with 10 games played, look to have their work cut out to stay in the Premier League. Leicester City meanwhile have endured a mixed campaign and their loss to Fulham last weekend exemplified just that. They still sit inside the top 4 of the Premier League however and look to have a squad capable of challenging this term. Sheffield United are a side on the floor confidence wise and Leicester should have no issues here.
Betting tip: Leicester City to win the match ($2) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Leicester City to win 2-1
Tottenham vs Arsenal – Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
The North London Derby is once again the headline fixture of the Premier League weekend as Tottenham host Arsenal. Jose Mourinho’s side have grabbed most of the headlines this season, following some excellent performances but their draw at Chelsea last time out was a tempering of the expectations at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Arsenal meanwhile are a side in flux and Mikel Arteta’s team find themselves languishing in 14th place in the table. Their loss to Wolves last weekend was a stark reminder of the shortcomings in Arsenal’s squad and Tottenham should prevail at home here.
Betting tip: Tottenham to win the match ($2.05) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Tottenham to win 2-1
Liverpool vs Wolves – Anfield
Table topping Liverpool will know they will need to be at their best as they welcome high-flying Wolves to Anfield. The reds are a winning machine, especially at home but their last draw at Brighton last weekend could be a make or break moment within their season. Wolves meanwhile won well at Arsenal last time out and look to be finding their feet in the league this year. Raul Jimenez won’t be available for the trip to Merseyside and that could make the difference, making Liverpool the justified favourites to win this one.
Betting tip: Liverpool to win the match and both teams to score ($2.3) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Liverpool to win 2-1
Brighton vs Southampton – AMEX Stadium
Two sides on the South Coast battle it out in Monday Night Football as Brighton host Southampton. The Seagulls dug deep to earn a point against Champions Liverpool last weekend and look to be a side finding form as the busy festive season approaches. Southampton meanwhile blew a 2-goal lead against Manchester United last time out and could be made to rue their late meltdown. This should be a very good game between two sides in good nick and a score draw looks on the cards.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.35) – Bet @ Sportsbet
