Tony Pulis became the latest manager to lose his job in the Premier League following West Bromwich Albion’s 4-0 home thumping by Chelsea meaning a quarter of managers in the league have now been sacked with only 12 games played. Manchester City kept their remarkable run going at Leicester, Manchester United kept pace and with the return of Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic had plenty to cheer whilst Arsenal restored local pride with 2-0 win over Tottenham.
Elsewhere, there were wins for Burnley, Watford and Bournemouth whilst the pressure continues to mount on Swansea and Crystal Palace in the bottom 3.
Here are our picks for the thirteenth round of fixtures in the Premier League:
07:00 West Ham United vs Leicester City
West Ham United ($2.6)
Leicester City ($2.7)
David Moyes’ first home game in charge of the Hammers takes place on Friday evening as the East Londoners look to pull away from the bottom 3. An un-inspired performance against Watford will have given Moyes great cause for concern and their relegation predicament is a worrying situation for the new man in charge. Leicester have improved under the stewardship of new manager Claude Puel but have failed to win in their last 2 Premier League games. Slavan Bilic’s departure from West Ham was a decision the majority of Irons fans agreed with but the appointment of David Moyes until the end of the season was not the inspirational choice many of the West Ham faithful had hoped for. Following Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to Watford, the Hammers are immersed in relegation trouble, sat in 18th place with 9 points from their 12 games and they have conceded a staggering 25 goals – the worst defensive record in the Premier League. The Foxes have undertaken a resurgence under Claude Puel – picking up 4 points from their last 3 games in the league and progressing to the last 8 of the Carabao Cup. Despite last Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to league leaders Manchester City, Leicester have navigated a path away from relegation trouble and sit in 12th place in the table.
Leicester have looked a lot stronger under Claude Puel and will attack the Hammers but David Moyes will want a reaction from his men – otherwise relegation is a real possibility.

2 – 2 Draw
02:00 Crystal Palace vs Stoke City
Crystal Palace ($2.1)
Stoke City ($4)
Roy Hodgson is still seeking his second win in charge of Crystal Palace as the Eagles sit bottom of the pile after 12 games with only 5 points. Saturday’s 2-2 draw with fellow strugglers Everton will have given the former England manager cause for optimism for the remainder of the season. Stoke’s start to the season has been relatively unremarkable but with 4 points from their last 2 games – Mark Hughes will be hoping his side can improve on their 15th place position. Having been propping up the table for the past 2 months, Roy Hodgson’s Palace have only registered one Premier League win so far this term – a 2-1 home triumph over Champions Chelsea.
Goals have been the primary concern for Hodgson’s men with only 6 Premier League goals scored this term at an average of one every two games. The Potters have had an indifferent start to the campaign – beating Arsenal and drawing with Manchester United whilst shipping 7 at the hands of Manchester City. Mark Hughes’s men find themselves in 15th position and their defensive record has been uncharacteristically poor – 24 goals conceded in 12 games so far.
Roy Hodgson has improved Crystal Palace since his arrival although the results haven’t necessarily been coming and Palace will see this as a winnable fixture, but Stoke are resolute and won’t make life easy for them.

02:00 Manchester United vs Brighton & Hove Albion
Manchester United ($1.18)
Brighton & Hove Albion ($21)
Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United welcome Chris Hughton’s impressive Brighton side to Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon as they look to keep pace with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League. Brighton meanwhile, find themselves in 9th place in the league – having picked up 8 points from their last 4 matches and the Seagulls look to have adapted to Premier League life with ease. United returned to winning ways against Newcastle last time out with a resounding 4-1 win over Rafa Benitez’s men with Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku returning from fitness and to form respectively. Brighton have had a remarkable month – unbeaten in their last 5 Premier League games and they find themselves comfortably in the Premier League’s top half of the table.
The Red Devils look well placed in 2nd place to launch an assault on Manchester City and can close the gap to 5 points as they play first this weekend. Brighton will arrive at Old Trafford full of confidence but United have key players back and should dispatch of the Seagulls with relative ease.

Manchester United to win 3-0
02:00 Newcastle United vs Watford
Newcastle United ($2.15)
Watford got back to winning ways with a comfortable 2-0 win over struggling West Ham last time out whilst Newcastle find themselves enduring a similar barren run – having lost their last 3 Premier League matches and they will be keen to get back to winning ways as soon as possible. Watford got back to winning ways with a comfortable 2-0 win over struggling West Ham last time out whilst Newcastle find themselves enduring a similar barren run – having lost their last 3 Premier League matches and they will be keen to get back to winning ways as soon as possible. The Hornets have impressed this season – beating the likes of Arsenal and drawing with Liverpool in an eye-catching opening 12 games.
Marco Silva has used his wealth of European experience to recruit exciting players all over the park and he is a manager in demand although Watford fans will be praying the Portuguese man will stay.
Newcastle need points after their poor recent run but Watford are playing free-flowing football and look a very strong outfit.

Watford to win 2-1
02:00 Swansea City vs Bournemouth
Swansea City ($2.7)
Bournemouth travel across the border to Swansea looking to continue their great recent form. The Cherries have picked up 6 points from their last 2 games and their resounding 4-0 win over Huddersfield last time out will give Eddie Howe real cause for optimism. Swansea have lost their last 5 matches in all competitions and need to pick up points quickly as they are already 2 points adrift of Premier League safety. The pressure continues to pile on Paul Clement whose side have only scored 2 goals in their last 5 matches. Sat in 19th place in the table, the Swans have only picked up 8 points from their opening 12 games and have managed a mere 7 goals this term in the Premier League. The Cherries were embroiled in relegation trouble prior to their back to back wins over Newcastle and Huddersfield. Eddie Howe’s men have climbed to 13th place in the table, with 13 points to their name after their opening 12 matches.
Both sides need points and it could be an entertaining game between two footballing sides.

02:00 Tottenham vs West Bromwich Albion
West Bromwich Albion ($13)
Tony Pulis has become the latest manager to lose his job following a string of poor defeats for West Brom and next up for the Baggies is a tricky looking trip to Wembley to face Tottenham. Spurs will be reeling from their North London Derby defeat to Arsenal and will be desperate to bounce back quickly in their pursuit of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League. Spurs came crashing back down to earth with a 2-0 loss at Arsenal last time out – with controversial refereeing decisions proving costly for Mauricio Pochettino’s men. Now 11 points behind Manchester City, Spurs sit in 4th place, one point above 5th place Liverpool – having scored 20 goals in their opening 12 games. Tony Pulis paid the ultimate price on Monday, with his 3 year tenure in charge of the Baggies coming to an end following a 4-0 thumping at the hands of Chelsea. The Baggies are in 17th place, without a win in nearly 3 months and reside only one point and one place outside of the relegation zone.
Tottenham will be eager to bounce back from their painstaking defeat to Arsenal whilst West Brom will have a point to prove following Tony Pulis’s departure but Spurs should have too much quality.

Tottenham to win 2-0
04:30 Liverpool vs Chelsea
Two Premier League heavyweights meet on Saturday evening as Chelsea travel to Liverpool to renew one of the oldest rivalries in the Premier League. Both sides have had shaky starts to their respective seasons but with both finding form recently it promises to be an entertaining encounter between two attack minded teams. Jurgen Klopp’s reds have improved in recent weeks and find themselves in 5th place in the table – a single point outside the Champions League places. The reds have won their last 4 matches in all competitions since a hefty defeat to Tottenham last month and they are playing some very attractive football. The Blues have found form in recent weeks and find themselves in 3rd place in the Premier League table – 9 points behind leaders Manchester City.
The Blues have won their last 4 Premier League matches and look to be piecing a charge together towards regaining their Premier League title.
As one of the all-time heavyweight clashes in the Premier League this promises to be a classic match between two attacking teams who could well cancel each other out.
Betting tip: Both teams to score and the match to finish as a draw ($4) BET NOW
00:30 Southampton vs Everton
Mauricio Pellegrino’s Saints have endured a tumultuous start to the season and are desperately in need of points to navigate a path away from the relegation zone. Everton too have had a difficult opening 12 games and with uncertainty over the managerial post, David Unsworth continues in temporary charge as the Toffees also look to pull away from the dreaded drop zone. The Saints have struggled so far this season, scoring 9 goals in their opening 12 games and they find themselves in 14th position in the Premier League. Back to back defeats to Burnley and Liverpool have enhanced the pressure on Pellegrino’s men who have failed to win a home game in the league in over a month. Ronald Koeman paid the price for a poor start to the season for the Toffees and the blues are still attempting to recover – they sit 16th in the table – only 3 points clear of the relegation zone. They have only kept one clean sheet this season – against Stoke on the opening day and have conceded an alarming 24 goals in their 12 games so far.
A big game for both sides who desperately need to put 3 points on the board. They are very evenly matched on paper and could well cancel each other out.

01:00 Burnley vs Arsenal
Sean Dyche’s dream start to the season continued last time out with a comfortable 2-0 win over Swansea and the Clarets find themselves in 7th place – level on points with Arsene Wenger’s men going into this fixture. Arsenal were mightily impressive in their 2-0 North London Derby win and Wenger will be hoping his side can take confidence from their win and use it as a catalyst for the rest of the campaign. Few would have expected Burnley’s remarkable start to the season and with only 2 defeats in their opening 12 games, they look to be well clear of the relegation picture for another season. The Clarets are sat in 7th position and European football looks a distinct possibility this term. They have only conceded 9 goals this season – the joint third lowest total in the division. The Gunners have had an inconsistent opening to the campaign – losing heavily at Manchester City & Liverpool but their win over Tottenham pushes them right back into Champions League contention. Arsenal are 6th, level on points with 5th placed Liverpool and only 1 point behind arch-rivals Spurs in 4th position – despite conceding 16 goals already in their opening 12 games.
Burnley have been in great form but Arsenal should be brimming with confidence following their disposal of Tottenham and should arrive in Lancashire with the bit between their teeth.

Arsenal to win 2-1
03:00 Huddersfield Town vs Manchester City
Huddersfield Town ($17)
Manchester City ($1.2)
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City continue to defy logic as their assault on the Premier League continued last time out with a comfortable 2-0 dispatching of Leicester City. The Blues sit 8 points clear of the chasing pack and will be looking to stretch their lead following a tricky looking trip to Yorkshire. Huddersfield have lacked consistency in the Premier League but find themselves in 10th place – a great return for David Wagner’s men. Huddersfield have enjoyed a remarkable start to life in the Premier League and sit in 10th place with 15 points from their opening 12 games. Their home form has been their backbone this season – they have picked up 12 points at the John Smiths Stadium and have only lost at home once – to Tottenham. The Blues have set the league alight this term – with 11 wins and 1 draw from their opening 12 games. Their remarkable +33 goal difference after 12 games has struck fear into most of their opponents – with the only question marks being whether they can maintain the run of form all season. The Blues are 8 points clear – a lead that could be reduced to 5 by kick off with Manchester United playing first this weekend.
Huddersfield have made life difficult for every team visiting the John Smiths Stadium this term and will make life awkward for the Blues – but Guardiola’s men look too good for most teams this season.
