Manchester City maintained their 8 point lead at the top of the Premier League following a hard-fought 2-1 win over Huddersfield on Sunday. Manchester Unite kept pace with an equally as attritional performance against Brighton whilst Arsenal snuck past Burnley. Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham could all rue missed opportunities as they could only manage draws in game week 13.
Elsewhere, Southampton piled the pressure on Everton, Crystal Palace picked up their 2nd win of the season and the sought after Marco Silva, led Watford to a thumping 3-0 win at Newcastle.
Here are our picks for the fourteenth round of fixtures in the Premier League:

06:45 Brighton vs Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace ($3.02)
Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace travel south to take on bitter rivals Brighton in a potentially crucial game for the Eagles. With two wins to their name all season, Palace are languishing at the bottom three of the Premier League table and with a hectic festive period on the horizon, they need to start registering points quickly. No such problems for Brighton have only lost 1 of their last 6 Premier League matches and they continue to defy the critics with their resolute yet effective approach. Brighton have enjoyed a remarkable start to life in the Premier League and sit in 9th place with 16 points from their opening 13 games. Palace have endured a terrible start to the season – 8 points from 13 games is unbefitting of such a squad and with almost a third of the season gone, they need to pick points up immediately. Their 2-1 win over Stoke last time out however could be just the catalyst Palace need for a surge up the table.
Crystal Palace need to improve quickly to have any hope of staying up but Brighton are in good form and could pile the pressure on the Eagles with a win.
Betting tip: Brighton to win the match to nil ($4) BET NOW
Brighton to win 1-0
06:45 Leicester City vs Tottenham
Leicester City ($5)
Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham will be looking to bounce back from Derby Day heartbreak and a poor home draw against West Brom as they travel to Leicester in search of 3 crucial points in the context of the title race. Spurs now find themselves 13 points behind the Manchester City runaway train and need to start making up ground quickly. Leicester picked up a decent point on the road at West Ham on Friday and Claude Puel looks to have improved the Foxes who are a match for anyone in the division.
The Foxes have recovered well from an indifferent start to the season and find themselves in 12th place having only lost once in their last 8 matches in all competitions.
Spurs have had a strong start to the season – highlighted by their incredible unbeaten record in the Champions League where they have beaten the likes of Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.
Domestically, defeats to Manchester United and Arsenal have curtailed the title charge momentarily but with a hectic period coming up Spurs will be hoping to chase down the likes of Chelsea and the Manchester clubs above them.
Leicester are a strong side but can lack cutting edge at times and with Spurs in desperate need of Premier League points, they should have too much quality for the Foxes.
Betting tip: Tottenham to win the match and both teams to score ($3.6) BET NOW
Tottenham to win 2-1
07:00 Watford vs Manchester United
Manchester United ($1.7)
With the speculation mounting over Marco Silva’s future at Vicarage Road, Watford have another chance to underline their progress this season as they face off against Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United. United bounced back well from defeat to Chelsea to beat Newcastle and Brighton in their last 2 Premier League games but their inability to put games to bed reared its ugly head once more in the Champions League as they lost 1-0 to FC Basel in Switzerland. The Hornets have been in remarkable form this season and find themselves sitting pretty in 8th place in the Premier League with 21 points from their 13 games so far. United as always have had a strong start to the season – having lost just twice in their 13 games and the Red Devils have only conceded 6 goals so far this term in the Premier League. Defeats to Chelsea and Huddersfield have punctuated their title charge for the time being but the reds have plenty of fire power in pursuit of the 8 point gap they have to make up on Manchester City.
Watford have had a great start to the season but this is a step up in class and United are very difficult to beat.
Betting tip: Manchester United to win the match and both teams to score ($3.6) BET NOW
Manchester United to win 2-1
07:00 West Brom vs Newcastle United
West Bromwich Albion ($2.45)
Newcastle United ($3.5)
Gary Megson takes temporary charge of West Bromwich Albion once again as the Baggies welcome Rafa Benitez’s toon army to the Hawthorns – looking for their first Premier League win in nearly 3 months. Tony Pulis paid the price for a string of poor results and West Brom need to pull away from danger quickly. Newcastle have wobbled in recent weeks but their strong start sees them go into this game in 14th place in the Premier League table and their form also needs to improve quickly. West Brom’s search for a new manager continues following the sacking of Tony Pulis and with a busy festive period coming up they will need to pull away from relegation trouble quickly. The Baggies are in 17th place, without a win in nearly 3 months and reside only one point and one place outside of the relegation zone although their plucky 1-1 draw with Tottenham will give them cause for optimism. A recent rocky patch has left the Toon in 14th place and they are in danger of ruining their very good start to the campaign as they are now only 4 points clear of relegation trouble. Rafa Benitez will be keen to see improvements from his team though who’ve lacked confidence in front of goal recently – only managing 11 goals so far this term.
Betting tip: Neither side will want to lose this game with so much at stake and one point is obviously better than none ($3.2) BET NOW
06:45 Arsenal vs Huddersfield Town
Huddersfield Town ($19)
Arsene Wenger will be hoping his side can use the North London derby triumph and subsequent injury time win over Burnley as a catalyst towards great things as they welcome Huddersfield to the Emirates. Victory over Spurs was followed up by a chastening 1-0 defeat to Koln in the Europa League and its consistency that is hampering Arsenal currently. Huddersfield are having the time of their lives in the Premier League, sat in 11th place the Terriers look well placed to avoid relegation this term. Whilst the personnel for Thursday’s defeat at Koln was wholly different, the premise remains the same for Arsenal who cannot seem to string results together. However, Arsenal are 4th, above arch-rivals Spurs and Liverpool – despite conceding 16 goals already in their opening 13 games. David Wagner’s men continue to defy logic with their resolute, organised performances in the Premier League. Their away form is a little alarming however with just one win on the road, the Terriers have shipped 7 goals in their last 2 away games.
Arsenal need to make games like this count if they are to have any hope of reaching the top 4 in the Premier League.
Betting tip: Arsenal to win the match with a -2.5 Asian Handicap ($2.55) BET NOW
Arsenal to win 3-0
06:45 Bournemouth vs Burnley
Eddie Howe’s in-form Bournemouth welcome the Premier League’s surprise package Burnley to the Vitality Stadium in a battle between two of the brightest young managers in English football. Bournemouth were in trouble less than a month ago but 3 wins in their last 5 games have pulled the Cherries away from danger. Sean Dyche has been receiving multiple plaudits for Burnley’s performances this term as the Clarets continue to impress and currently sit in 7th place in the Premier League. The Cherries smashed Huddersfield in their last home game and they will be keen to carry on their impressive form in recent weeks. The return of Callum Wilson seems to have added a focal point to their attack, from which they are benefitting. Eddie Howe’s men have climbed to 13th place in the table, with 13 points to their name after their opening 12 matches. The Clarets have only lost three times this season and have taken down some of the biggest names in the Premier League including Chelsea. Sean Dyche has built a formula on solid defence coupled with slick forward play which very few teams have found a way to deal with this term. Having only lost on the road at Manchester City this term, The Clarets are sat in 7th position and European football looks a distinct possibility and they have only conceded 10 goals this season.
With both teams in good form, this could be one of the games of the round – but they could well cancel each other out.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw and both teams to score ($5) BET NOW
06:45 Chelsea vs Swansea City
Swansea City ($21)
Paul Clement takes his Swansea side to the ground where he made a name for himself as an assistant manager for so many years – to take on the Champions of England, who look to be finding their form this season. Chelsea have won 4 of their last 5 Premier League matches and need to keep going in their pursuit of Manchester City at the top of the tree. Chelsea’s great form continued last week with a 4-0 thumping of FK Qarabag in Azerbaijan and a plucky 1-1 draw at Liverpool, the Blues look to be finding their form in the Premier League too. The Blues find themselves in 3rd place in the table – 11 points behind leaders Manchester City. The Swans have endured a tough start to the campaign and this match doesn’t look any easier – although having no pressure may help the South Walians. Sat in 19th place in the table, the Swans have only picked up 9 points from their opening 13 games and have managed a mere 7 goals this term in the Premier League – a league low.
Chelsea are in great nick and will be desperate to take the game to Swansea and keep pace at the top of the Premier League.
Betting tip: Chelsea to win the match with a -2.5 Asian Handicap ($2.55) BET NOW
Chelsea to win 3-0
07:00 Everton vs West Ham
West Ham ($3.4)
Two sides in the doldrums meet at Goodison Park with crucial points up for grabs. David Moyes returns to the club he left for Manchester United with a West Ham side who didn’t perform in his first game in charge at Watford but looked decent in a draw against Leicester City. Everton are in free fall, conceding 9 goals in their last 2 games. Their embarrassing 5-1 defeat to Atalanta in the Europa League was followed up with a 4-1 thumping at Southampton and David Unsworth appears to be struggling in interim charge. The Toffees are still attempting to recover from their horror start – they sit 16th in the table – only 2 points clear of the relegation zone. They have only kept one clean sheet this season – against Stoke on the opening day and have conceded an alarming 28 goals in their 13 games so far. David Moyes spoke of his discontent at his side’s performance at Watford – saying many big name players failed to impress him and he got the response he wanted against Leicester. He returns to the ground where he spent 12 glorious years but there will be no favours being offered out here. The Hammers are immersed in relegation trouble too, sat in 18th place with 10 points from their 13 games.
There is a huge amount of respect between the two managers who will both want to put in good performances – but the enormity of the game could make it an even affair.
Betting tip: Both teams to score and the match to finish as a draw ($4.5) BET NOW
07:00 Manchester City vs Southampton
Manchester City ($1.22)
Manchester City will be looking to leave the chasing pack trailing in their wake as the welcome struggling Southampton to the Etihad Stadium. City have been in spectacular form this term – winning 18 games in a row in all competitions and many pundits are suggesting the league is all but over. Southampton have struggled for consistency and goals this season but are always a tough nut for any team to crack. Remarkably, only Everton have taken points off Manchester City with 13 games of the Premier League season played and Pep Guardiola’s men sit 8 points clear of the chasing pack at the top of the league. Their remarkable +34 goal difference after 13 games has struck fear into most of their opponents – with the only question marks being whether they can maintain the run of form all season. The Saints have struggled for goals this term – only managing 13 in their 13 league games so far – an issue Mauricio Pellegino’s men must address. 4 of those goals however came against Everton last time out and with Charlie Austin back in goal scoring form for the Saints – they will be hoping for a surge up the table.
The pressure is all on City to keep their remarkable run going but Guardiola’s men simply look too good at the moment.
Betting tip: Manchester City to win the match with a -2.5 Asian Handicap – ($2.4) BET NOW
Manchester City to win 3-0
07:00 Stoke City vs Liverpool
Stoke City ($6.25)
Liverpool will be hoping to banish the memories of their European excursions as they travel to Stoke City in search of 3 points to keep them in the Champions League picture. Their 1-1 home draw with Chelsea however will give Jurgen Klopp cause for optimism. Stoke have been resolute in recent weeks following a shaky start although the manner of their last minute defeat to Crystal Palace last time out will be a huge concern for Mark Hughes. The Potters have had an indifferent start to the campaign – beating Arsenal and drawing with Manchester United whilst shipping 7 at the hands of Manchester City. Mark Hughes’s men find themselves in 15th position and their defensive record has been uncharacteristically poor – 26 goals conceded in 13 games so far. The defensive problems Jurgen Klopp has to deal with came to the fore once more in the Champions League as Liverpool let a 3 goal lead slip against Sevilla last Wednesday evening. However, the reds are unbeaten in their last 6 matches in all competitions since a hefty defeat to Tottenham last month and they are playing some very attractive, attacking football.
Stoke is a notoriously tough place to go but Liverpool have plenty of attacking talent and should be able to break down the Potters.
