As December approaches, the hectic festive footballing season comes to prominence and the Premier League once again looks to be hotting up over the Christmas period. Manchester City still sit top of the table following their 4-0 demolition of West Ham whilst Liverpool are still unbeaten and in hot pursuit. Tottenham have leapfrogged Chelsea to sit 3rd whilst Arsenal, Everton and Manchester United are still all very much in the top 4 picture.

At the bottom of the pile, Southampton have slipped into the drop zone along with Cardiff and Fulham whilst Huddersfield and Newcastle look to be finding form in an attempt to pull away from the relegation zone.

Saturday 01/12/18

6:00am Cardiff City vs Wolves – Cardiff City Stadium

Cardiff City ($3.9)

Wolves ($2.2)

Draw ($3.3)

Two newly-promoted sides kick off the Premier League programme on Friday evening as Wolves travel to Cardiff City – with both sides very much in need of a win. Cardiff have struggled for points all season whilst Wolves have had their progress checked in recent weeks and will be fully aware of the magnitude of the survival task facing them this term. Currently sat in 19th place in the table, the Bluebirds are immersed in a relegation scrap under the stewardship of Neil Warnock. Cardiff have 8 points to their name after 13 games played and have picked up both of their Premier League wins at home so will be targeting a win here. Wolves are in the midst of a barren 5 match run that has seen them only collect 1 point to negate their impressive start to life in the top-flight. The manner of their disappointing defeat to Huddersfield last time will worry Nuno Esporito Santo – who has seen his side slip to 11th in the table, with 16 points to their name. Cardiff will look to exploit home advantage here against Wolves but they are defensively resolute, whist possessing attacking options and this could well end up honours even.

Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw and both teams to score ($4.8) – BET NOW

1-1 Draw

Sunday 02/12/18

1:00am Crystal Palace vs Burnley – Selhurst Park

Crystal Palace ($1.65)

Burnley ($7)

Draw ($4)

Relegation is the order of the day in East London as two of the Premier League’s strugglers face off at Selhurst Park. Both sides have failed to kick on after impressive campaigns last term and they will be targeting games such as this to aide their aspirations to climb the table. With both sides locked on 9 points and sat in 16th and 17th in the table respectively, there are precious points on the line here. Crystal Palace showed real resolve last time out to earn a point against Manchester United at Old Trafford. However, Roy Hodgson’s men are 16th in the Premier League having endured a relatively poor start to the season thus far and will need to start getting points on the board quickly. Winless in their last 6 games in all competitions, the Clarets sit one place and one point above the drop zone in 17th. Their defeat to Newcastle last time out was a crucial opportunity missed and they will be looking to clinch the spoils in another relegation six pointer here. With both sides struggling, this could be a frenetic encounter and avoiding defeat is sure to be the priority for both sides and their managers.

Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw and both teams to score ($5.75) – BET NOW

1-1 Draw

1:00am Huddersfield Town vs Brighton – John Smith’s Stadium

Huddersfield Town ($2.5)

Brighton ($3.3)

Draw ($3)

In-form Huddersfield Town welcome Brighton to West Yorkshire in what promises to be a fascinating battle between two teams hovering ominously above the dreaded relegation drop zone. Brighton have been difficult to beat all season and have been consistently picking up points whilst the Terriers have improved in recent weeks to pull clear of the drop zone, for the time being at least. The Terriers currently sit 15th in the table – with 10 points to their name from their opening 13 games played. David Wagner’s men have shown real resolve in recent weeks – picking up 7 points from their last 3 games – including an impressive 2-0 win at Wolves last time out. Chris Hughton’s Seagulls will be eager to get back to winning ways following a winless run stretching to 3 games. Brighton have picked up 15 points so far this term and will be looking to pick up some crucial points on the road here. This promises to be a real hum-dinger of a clash between two sides fighting for their lives and not losing this crucial game could be more important than winning it in the context of each side’s season.

Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw and both teams to score ($4.5) – BET NOW

1-1 Draw

1:00am Leicester City vs Watford – King Power Stadium

Leicester City ($2.25)

Watford ($3.5)

Draw ($3.3)

Two sides pushing for top-half finishes in the Premier League face off in the East Midlands as Leicester welcome Watford to the King Power stadium. Sat 10th and 9th in the table respectively, both sides will be eying up three points in hot pursuit of the teams above them – whilst maintaining wary of the sides below them in the bottom half of the table. Claude Puel’s Foxes have struggled to put a run of form together this season but will be pleased to still be sitting in 10th place – despite their inconsistencies. Back to back draws with Burnley and Brighton – coupled with their Carabao Cup progress at the expense of Southampton will have lifted the mood around the King Power. Another side blighted by inconsistencies is Watford who find themselves 9th in the Premier League table – with 20 points to their name. Javi Gracia’s men are in the midst of a 3 match losing streak but showed glimpses of quality against Liverpool in defeat last time out. With both teams needing points and pushing for the top half, this could be an absolutely fantastic game between two attack minded sides.

Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw and both teams to score ($4.6) – BET NOW

2-2 Draw

1:00am Manchester City vs Bournemouth – Etihad Stadium

Manchester City ($1.1)

Bournemouth ($34)

Draw ($10)

Champions Manchester City welcome high-flying Bournemouth to the Etihad in what promises to be a highly entertaining encounter in East Manchester. The blues currently sit 2 points clear of the chasing pack, following an unbeaten start to the season and will be looking to keep their impressive run going whilst Bournemouth will arrive full of confidence – following their impressive start to the campaign. With qualification for the next round of the Champions League assured, Manchester City can focus all of their attention on their domestic efforts until the New Year. Their 4-0 win at West Ham was yet another statement to the chasing pack that City mean business once again this season and they look like being the team to catch. Three consecutive defeats at the hands of Manchester United, Newcastle and Arsenal have stalled progress in recent weeks for Bournemouth and this looks to be a big ask. The Cherries sit 8th in the Premier League, with 20 points to their name and they will be hoping to kick on once again over the hectic festive period. Bournemouth are a tidy side and should pose a few problems for the Champions but Pep Guardiola’s men are imperious at home and should get the job done here.

Betting tip: Manchester City to win the match and both teams to score ($2.45) – BET NOW

Manchester City to win 3-1

1:00am Newcastle United vs West Ham United – St James’s Park

Newcastle United ($2.5)

West Ham United ($3)

Draw ($3.2)

In-form Newcastle welcome West Ham United to the North East in what promises to be a fascinating encounter at St James’s Park. Both sides find themselves in the lower, mid-table region of the table and will be pursuing crucial points as they look to track down the teams above them and keep their distance from the chasing pack below. Three top flight wins on the spin have propelled the Toon to 13th place in the Premier League – 4 points above the dreaded drop zone. Rafa Benitez has seen his charges improve in recent weeks and he will be hoping they can keep their impressive recent run going. Inconsistency continues to blight the Hammers’ season and Manuel Pellegrini will be hoping to see his side bounce back from their 4-0 thumping at the hands of Manchester City last time out. Some of their best performances of the season have come one the road, most notably a 3-1 win at Everton last month and they will be hoping to find that sort of form again here. This could be an arduous fixture between two teams needing points and the spoils could well be shared.

Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw and both teams to score ($4.6) – BET NOW

1-1 Draw

3:30am Southampton vs Manchester United – St Mary’s Stadium

Southampton ($4.5)

Manchester United ($1.9)

Draw ($3.5)

Two sides in desperate need of points face off on the South Coast as Jose Mourinho’s inconsistent reds travel to take on Mark Hughes’s beleaguered Saints. United have been subjected to media scrutiny this season as their title and top 4 challenges have, as yet, mounted to very little whilst Southampton dropped into the relegation zone following defeat at Fulham last time out and the pressure is beginning to mount on Mark Hughes. Currently sat in 18th place, with 8 points from their opening 13 games, it looks as if Mark Hughes’s men will be immersed in a relegation scrap this term. Following their defeat to Fulham last time out, the Saints are in the midst of a rotten run and with only one league win all season they need to see results and performances improve very quickly. It’s been a difficult start to the season for Manchester United who have picked up 21 points from their opening 13 games and sit in 7th place in the Premier League table. They secured Champions League qualification in midweek but their lack of obvious goal threat continues to be a huge worry for Jose Mourinho’s men. Southampton need to start picking up points quickly but United are a really tough opponent and should get three more points in their pursuit of European football.

Betting tip: Manchester United to win the match and both teams to score ($4) – BET NOW

Manchester United to win 2-1

10:00pm Chelsea vs Fulham – Stamford Bridge

Chelsea ($1.18)

Fulham ($17)

Draw ($8)

West London pride is at stake as Chelsea host Fulham on Sunday afternoon, with Claudio Ranieri returning to his former employers adding a fascinating sub-plot to proceedings. The blues suffered their first set back of the season last time out at the hands of local rivals Tottenham and they will be keen to avoid a similar result here against another London outfit. Chelsea’s title campaign looks to have hit a stumbling block in recent weeks, with a 0-0 draw with Everton backed up with a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Tottenham. Despite their setback, Chelsea still sit in 4th place in the table – but 7 points behind Manchester City as it currently stands. Installing new manager Claudio Ranieri at the helm could be the inspiration the West Londoners need to surge towards safety and their 3-2 win over Southampton last time out should give all connected with the club a boost. Despite still sitting bottom of the Premier League table, the Cottagers are level on points with the teams above them and will fancy their chances of pulling away from the dreaded drop. Two pioneers of attacking football look set to face off and it promises to be a fascinating encounter which Chelsea – with all their attacking talent – should triumph from over the course of the 90 minutes.

Betting tip: Chelsea to win the match and both teams to score ($2.6) – BET NOW

Chelsea to win 3-1

Monday 03/12/18

12:05am Arsenal vs Tottenham – Emirates Stadium

Arsenal ($2.5)

Tottenham ($2.7)

Draw ($3.75)

The North London Derby headlines the footballing calendar on Sunday afternoon with both Arsenal and Tottenham very much in the mix when it comes to Champions League football. Spurs have will travel to the Emirates full of confidence following their 3-1 thumping of Chelsea whilst Arsenal have developed a new found resistance under Unai Emery. Arsenal currently sit 5th in the Premier League table and having only suffered 2 defeats all season are very much in the picture for top 4 football. They once again showed real character to pick up a 2-1 win on the road at Bournemouth last time out and their fire power, combined with defensive stability looks to be the perfect blend currently under Unai Emery. Tottenham are in the midst of a 6 match winning streak in all competitions and their wins over Chelsea and Inter Milan in the last week will have given all connected with the club a huge boost. Having won their last 2 Champions League games, qualification for the knockout stages looks a real possibility this season and they currently sit 3rd in the Premier League table. Both sides will be bang up for what looks to be the biggest game of the weekend and it could well end up honours even between two very strong sides.

Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($4.4) – BET NOW

1-1 Draw

2:15am Liverpool vs Everton – Anfield

Liverpool ($1.4)

Everton ($9)

Draw ($5)

On a day of Derbies in the Premier League, the Merseyside rivalry finishes the programme with Everton travelling to Liverpool in Toffee’s manager Marco Silva’s first taste of the rivalry. Both sides have enjoyed strong starts to the campaign and will be eager to put a marker down here in the city and clinch three crucial points. The Reds have impressed domestically this season and currently sit in 2nd place in the table – 2 points behind Manchester City. Despite their struggles in the Champions League, the reds have been potent all season and look to have a squad capable of mounting a sustained title charge. Marco Silva looks to be finally impacting his ideals on his players and the Toffees currently sit 6th in the table – only 5 points off Champions League football. Five wins from their last 7 Premier League fixtures have boosted the mood at Goodison Park and they look to have a strong squad this term, capable of challenging for a top 7 placed finish. Anfield will be rocking this could be a real battle between the Merseyside rivals but Liverpool should have too much fire power and keep the reds right up there in the title battle.
