Boxing Day Premier League fixtures are a staple of the British sporting calendar and despite the unique backdrop of no fans in the stadiums in 2020, it promises to be yet another incredible round of fixtures. Liverpool top the table heading in to Christmas once again with Tottenham, Manchester United and Everton the sides in hot pursuit. At the bottom of the table, Sheffield United continue to slip out of the picture in terms of survival whilst Fulham, West Bromwich Albion and Brighton will be looking to climb the table as quickly as possible.
Here are our picks for the next round of fixtures in the Premier League:
EPL Week 15 Tips
Leicester City vs Manchester United – King Power Stadium
Leicester City ($3.1)
Manchester United ($2.42)
Two sides looking to challenge for the title this season face off as Leicester City host Manchester United. With an impressive 2-0 win at Tottenham last time out, Brendan Rodgers’s Foxes underlined their credentials as a side capable of going all the way this season. Their home form has been strangely their Achilles Heel this term and they will be looking to put that right here. Manchester United meanwhile are a side constantly improving and they will be eager to keep their impressive run of form going. They secured their spot in the Carabao Cup semi-final in midweek and a win here could push them up towards the top of the table – for the first time in half a decade or so. Leicester are well equipped in most areas and this could end up being a draw between two well matched teams.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.65) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace – Villa Park
Aston Villa ($2)
Crystal Palace ($4)
High-flying Aston Villa take on Crystal Palace in what promises to be an intriguing encounter at Villa Park. The home side have been in great nick all season and their latest 3-0 win on the road at West Bromwich Albion was testament to their progress this term. They sit 9th in the table and look set to be well clear of the relegation picture come May. The same can’t be said for Crystal Palace meanwhile who succumbed to an embarrassing 7-0 loss at home to Liverpool last time out. Roy Hodgson’s men are known for their impressive showings away from home and this could be a chance to bounce back quickly. This may be a much tighter game than many expect, and the draw looks excellent value.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.9) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Fulham vs Southampton – Craven Cottage
Southampton will be looking to continue their impressive start to the season as they travel to an improving Fulham outfit. The Cottagers picked up a solid point on the road at Newcastle last time out and look to be a side capable of crawling out of relegation trouble this term. Southampton meanwhile showed real resolve in defeat to Manchester City last weekend and their league position of 7th is testament to the improvements they have made in key areas this term. This won’t be an easy game for the Saints, but they should leave West London with all three points here.
Betting tip: Southampton to win the match ($2.4) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Southampton to win 2-1
Arsenal vs Chelsea – Emirates Stadium
A London Derby dominates the Boxing Day football picture in the capital as Arsenal host Chelsea. The Gunners are in rotten form and their league position of 15th is a real illustration of that. They were edged out by Everton last weekend and their thumping loss to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup in midweek will do little to boost morale at the Emirates. Chelsea meanwhile have endured a brief blip in the Premier League but bounced back well to beat West Ham on Monday evening. The blues look to have a side capable of challenging this season and they will need to show that a couple of poor results won’t impact too heavily on their season. This should be a cracker of an encounter with Chelsea most likely to come out on top.
Betting tip: Chelsea to win the match ($2) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Chelsea to win 2-0
Manchester City vs Newcastle United – Etihad Stadium
Manchester City ($1.14)
Newcastle United ($28)
Manchester City will be looking to build on their recent improved form as they welcome Newcastle to town. The blues easily booked their place in the last 4 of the Carabao Cup against Arsenal in midweek and their win on the road at Southampton last time out in the league is sure to boost morale as they look to claw back the deficit in the Premier League title race. Newcastle meanwhile are a side looking over their shoulder and their league position of 12th will be something they are desperate to cling onto. Steve Bruce’s men were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Brentford and they will want to respond here. This could be a tough ask though and City should win well at home here.
Betting tip: Manchester City to win the match to nil ($1.7) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Manchester City to win 3-0
Sheffield United vs Everton – Bramall Lane
Sheffield United ($4.5)
Bottom side Sheffield United will be desperate to climb the table as they welcome high-flying Everton to South Yorkshire. The Blades remain winless in the Premier League this term but their solid point on the road at Brighton last time out is sure to give all connected with the club a much needed morale boost. Everton meanwhile sit 3rd in the table and look to be a side sure to challenge for a top 6 finish this season. Goals are coming from all angles this season and the Toffees should have no issues on the road here at Bramall Lane.
Betting tip: Everton to win the match ($1.95) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Everton to win 2-0
Leeds United vs Burnley – Elland Road
Leeds United ($1.8)
Leeds will be looking to bounce back from a chastening evening at Manchester United as they welcome Burnley to Elland Road. The Whites were thumped 6-2 by arch rivals United on Sunday and a response is needed. Their home form has been the backbone to their success this season and they will be eager to take the game to Burnley here. The Clarets meanwhile are a side much improved and their win over Wolves on Monday Night was testament to their progress in recent weeks. They have climbed out of the relegation zone and with 12 points to their name, they will be looking to motor up the table quickly. This could be a much tighter game than many expect, and a draw could well be the value bet.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($4.1) – Bet @ Sportsbet
West Ham United vs Brighton – London Olympic Stadium
West Ham United ($2.44)
West Ham will be looking to bounce back from a poor defeat on the road at Chelsea as they host Brighton. The Hammers have been in impressive form so far this season, but recent results have checked their progress somewhat. They sit 10th in the table and will be targeting games such as this as they look to finish the campaign in the top half. Brighton meanwhile look to be in a real relegation scrap this term and their home draw with Sheffield United last time out underlined their lack of attacking prowess in the ranks. They are a solid Premier League side however and will be looking to use all of their knowhow here, but West Ham should prevail.
Betting tip: West Ham United to win the match ($2.44) – Bet @ Sportsbet
West Ham United to win 2-1
Liverpool vs West Bromwich Albion – Anfield
West Bromwich Albion ($26)
Table topping Liverpool will be keen to avoid any slip ups as they take on West Bromwich Albion at Anfield. The reds hammered Crystal Palace last time out to establish a solid lead at the top of the table and although it is only Christmas, they look as if they will take some catching already. West Bromwich Albion meanwhile will be looking for a response following their heavy loss at home to Aston Villa on Sunday evening. Sam Allardyce has been placed in the hotseat at the Hawthorns and whilst the former England manager has plenty of experience, this could be a big ask here as Liverpool should prevail with ease.
Betting tip: Liverpool to win the match to nil ($1.45) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Liverpool to win 4-0
Wolves vs Tottenham – Molineux
Wolves will be looking to upset the big boys once more as they host Tottenham at Molineux. The home side picked up a precious win over Chelsea in their last home game before a disappointing loss at Burnley in midweek checked their progress somewhat and they will be eager to bounce back here. Tottenham meanwhile will also be looking to bounce back quickly as their loss to Leicester City continues to linger in the minds of players and fans alike. They booked their place in the Carabao Cup semi-finals in midweek and should be full of confidence here and should have enough to see off Wolves.
Betting tip: Tottenham to win the match ($2.2) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Tottenham to win 2-1
