The Premier League title race continues to intensify with Manchester United now sitting pretty at the top of the table. The reds have been in excellent recent form but this weekend’s trip to Liverpool promises to be a real test of their credentials. Elsewhere. Manchester City are starting to show signs that they could be back to their best whilst Liverpool, Leicester, Tottenham, Everton, and Chelsea are all sure to be in the mix come next May. At the bottom of the table, Sheffield United picked up their first win of the season over Newcastle in midweek and that could be a real building block for them moving forward whilst Fulham, West Bromwich Albion and Brighton all need to continue to keep picking up points.
Here are our picks for the next round of fixtures in the Premier League:
EPL Week 19 Tips
Wolves vs West Bromwich Albion – Molineux
West Bromwich Albion ($7.6)
A midlands derby kicks off the weekend Premier League schedule as Wolves host West Bromwich Albion. It has been a tough start to the season for Nuno Esporito Santo’s men, who have endured a rough run of form and bad luck with injuries to key players. Despite making most of the running against Everton in midweek, they ended up losing the game and they will be looking for a change in fortune here. West Bromwich Albion meanwhile are a side with plenty to prove under Sam Allardyce, who as yet hasn’t made the impact many would have hoped at the Hawthorns. The Baggies are 6 points adrift from Premier League safety and they look to have plenty to do in order to stay up this term. There will be no love lost between these two sides and Wolves should prevail here at home.
Betting tip: Wolves to win the match to nil ($2.25) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Wolves to win 2-0
Leeds United vs Brighton – Elland Road
Leeds United ($2.2)
Leeds United and Brighton face off in what promises to be a fascinating encounter in Yorkshire. The hosts were embarrassed by League One side Crawley Town in the FA Cup and whilst their Premier League status looks secure, their recent inconsistencies could hamper their progress made in the early season. Brighton meanwhile pushed Manchester City all the way in the week and they will be looking to draw positivity from that performance. They sit 17th, with one eye on the chasing pack behind them and picking up points in games such as this could be instrumental in their pursuit of safety. This could be a lot tighter than people expect and a draw looks a very likely result.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.7) – Bet @ Sportsbet
West Ham United vs Burnley – London Olympic Stadium
West Ham United ($1.9)
High-flying West Ham will be looking to continue their excellent recent form as they host Burnley. The Hammers left it late to squeeze past Stockport County in the FA Cup at the weekend, but their league form has been excellent of late and their league position of 10th is something David Moyes is sure to be very proud of. Burnley meanwhile have huffed and puffed this season and are yet to fully distance themselves from the relegation zone. The Clarets currently sit 16th, with only a 4 point cushion to the drop zone and they need to start picking up points quickly. Burnley will push West Ham here, but the Hammers are an improved side this term and they should pick up all three points at home in this one.
Betting tip: West Ham United to win the match ($1.9) – Bet @ Sportsbet
West Ham United to win 2-1
Fulham vs Chelsea – Craven Cottage
A West London Derby is on the cards at Craven Cottage as Fulham take on Chelsea. The Cottagers have been unable to play some of their fixtures recently as they continue to battle a COVID outbreak at the club but their draw at Tottenham in midweek should give them confidence moving forward. Survival is top of their agenda still but with results improving of late they will fancy their chances of getting out of trouble. Chelsea meanwhile are a team in trouble, and they have slipped to 9th in the table following recent results. They were thumped 3-1 by Manchester City last time out in the league and whilst they overcame Morecambe with ease in the FA Cup, Frank Lampard needs a response from his side here. This should be a good game which Fulham should be bang up for, but Chelsea should prevail here.
Betting tip: Chelsea to win the match ($1.58) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Chelsea to win 2-1
Leicester City vs Southampton – King Power Stadium
Leicester City ($1.91)
Two sides that have enjoyed impressive starts to the season face off as Leicester take on Southampton. The Foxes have been in and around the top 4 all season and their dismissal of Stoke in the FA Cup last time out was an indicator of how much they have improved in recent seasons. They have genuine top 4 aspirations this season and games like this are must win for a side with their targets. Southampton meanwhile are sitting pretty in 7th and their recent form has won them plaudits the world over. Defeating Liverpool last time out felt like a big result for the club and they will be hoping to stay in this position come the end of the season. Southampton look overpriced for this encounter and a draw could well be on the cards between two well matched teams.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.8) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Sheffield United vs Tottenham – Bramall Lane
Sheffield United ($6.5)
Following their first win of the season against Newcastle last time out, Sheffield United will be chomping at the bit to take on a faltering Tottenham side. The Blades are rock bottom of the table but wins breed confidence and they will be looking to kick on during 2021 and pull off one of the greatest escapes of all time. Tottenham meanwhile are a side slipping out of Premier League title contention and their latest draw with Fulham in midweek was indicative of their season thus far. A lack of creativity looks to be hamstringing Spurs and Joe Mourinho will want a response here. Sheffield United will be bang up for this one but Spurs tend to play with increased freedom away from home and Tottenham should win this one.
Betting tip: Tottenham to win the match ($1.7) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Tottenham to win 2-1
Liverpool vs Manchester United – Anfield
Manchester United ($3.75)
A huge Premier League clash awaits on Sunday as Liverpool take on Manchester United. As a fixture, the game needs no introduction but with United currently top of the Premier League table, it has a little more edge on the calendar this year. Liverpool have been slightly below their incredibly high standards in recent weeks and have dropped points in their last 3 Premier League fixtures. They beat a vastly under-strength Aston Villa in the FA Cup last time out and will be hoping to be refreshed here. United meanwhile are buoyant after beating Burnley to climb to the top of the Premier League and the Old Trafford faithful are dreaming once more. Whilst less than half the season has been played, United fans are confident that this could be the year they break streak of 8 years without a title. This is a huge game and although both sides will want to win, not losing could be more important and a draw looks to be on the cards.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($4) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Manchester City vs Crystal Palace – Etihad Stadium
Manchester City ($1.19)
Crystal Palace ($19)
Manchester City will be looking to continue their surge up the Premier League table as they take on Crystal Palace. The blues are in great form in all competitions and look to have found their mojo in recent weeks. Despite making hard work of Brighton in midweek, they have combined attacking flair with defensive stability, and they look to be timing their run to perfection. Crystal Palace meanwhile picked up an excellent point at Arsenal in midweek and look to be a side going in the right direction. They always play their best football away from home and have picked up points at the Etihad in both of the last two seasons. This could be a much tighter game than the odds suggest but City should just about prevail here.
Betting tip: Manchester City to win the match and both teams to score ($1.7) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Manchester City to win 2-1
Arsenal vs Newcastle United – Emirates Stadium
Newcastle United ($8.2)
Arsenal will be looking to continue their recent resurgence as they take on Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners are unbeaten since Boxing Day but their midweek draw at home to Crystal Palace was an indicator that they are not the finished article just yet. Newcastle meanwhile are a side slipping down the table and their loss to Sheffield United suggested that all is not well at St James’s Park. Safety will be their priority this term and although they have a 7-point cushion to the drop zone, they will be seeing games such as these as an opportunity to steal some points. Arsenal aren’t at their best but they should have too much for a struggling Newcastle side here.
Betting tip: Arsenal to win the match ($1.48) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Arsenal to win 2-0
