Ended The 2026-27 Premier League season kicked off in dramatic style last weekend, with big hitters Tottenham, Manchester United and Aston Villa all suffering defeats.
Champions Arsenal looked the most impressive, cruising past Coventry City, while Chelsea and Manchester City held their nerve in tight games.
Promoted sides Hull City and Ipswich Town both picked up wins, as did the likes of Everton and Leeds United, with another tight season in prospect.
There is plenty of change and big spending still taking place in the final few days of the transfer window, with a huge amount at stake at this early stage in the season.
Here are our top Premier League tips for the second weekend of the campaign:
Crystal Palace vs Manchester City @ Selhurst Park
Betting Tip: Manchester City to win the match @ $1.63

Crystal Palace ($5.50)
Manchester City ($1.63)
Draw ($4.20)
It was a tough opening weekend for Crystal Palace, who found Everton tough to stop and things shouldn’t get too much easier here for them against Manchester City. The Eagles are a side in transition, but they have plenty of high quality performers in their ranks. City meanwhile looked to also be a work in progress against Bournemouth, but they showed heart to get the job done. This will be a tight one under the lights, but City should sneak over the line here.
Manchester City to win 3-1
Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest @ Anfield
Betting Tip: Liverpool to win the match @ $1.50

Liverpool ($1.50)
Nottingham Forest ($6.00)
Draw ($4.50)
Liverpool left it late to pick up a point in their opening game against Newcastle last weekend and they will be desperate to kick on from that result here against Nottingham Forest. The Tricky Trees have endured a tough start under Oliver Glasner, losing to Leeds in both the league and Carabao Cup but they are a side that should come good. This feels like a tough one for them though and with Liverpool should get off to a winning start at home.
Liverpool to win 3-1
Coventry City vs Hull City @ Coventry Arena
Betting Tip: Coventry City to win the match @ $1.91

Coventry City ($1.91)
Hull City ($4.40)
Draw ($3.70)
Two promoted sides meet here, as Coventry City take on Hull City, in what should be a huge game in the West Midlands. The sky blues are back in the big time under Frank Lampard, and they look well set to enjoy the experience of Premier League football. They take on a Hull side who overcame Manchester United impressively last weekend and who should be buoyed from that result. However, Coventry had the wood over them in the regular season, and they should prevail here at home.
Coventry City to win 2-0
Bournemouth vs Everton @ Vitality Stadium
Betting Tip: The match to finish as a draw @ $3.60

Bournemouth ($2.10)
Everton ($3.50)
Draw ($3.60)
Two sides chasing a European spot come the end of the season meet here, as Bournemouth take on Everton. The Cherries were undone in the dying embers by Manchester City last time out but rarely taste defeat in the Premier League. Everton meanwhile started with a superb win over Crystal Palace last time out and David Moyes looks to have his house in order once again. This will be tight and cagey, bringing the draw into play.
1-1 Draw
Tottenham vs Newcastle United @ Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Betting Tip: The match to finish as a draw @ $3.80

Tottenham ($2.30)
Newcastle United ($3.00)
Draw ($3.70)
A pair of sides that suffered differing summers meet here, as Tottenham take on Newcastle United. Spurs only survived last season by the skin of their teeth in the Premier League and have invested heavily as a result in their playing staff. Newcastle meanwhile have had to sell many of their prized assets and with manager Eddie Howe having departed too, it is a season of change for the Toon. This should be an entertaining encounter, which could being the score draw into the mix.
2-2 Draw
Sunderland vs Fulham @ Stadium of Light
Betting Tip: The match to finish as a draw @ $3.40

Sunderland ($2.40)
Fulham ($3.00)
Draw ($3.40)
Two teams who will be prioritising Premier League survival clash here, as Sunderland and Fulham square off in the North East. Opening day losses to Ipswich and Chelsea respectively will be platforms to build on for both sides, who have also recruited heavily over the summer. This should a very tight one on paper, as both sides look to put precious points on the board, and this one could end up as a draw at the Stadium of Light.
1-1 Draw
Chelsea vs Brighton @ Stamford Bridge
Betting Tip: Chelsea to win the match @ $1.95

Chelsea ($1.95)
Brighton ($4.00)
Draw ($3.90)
Chelsea and Brighton picked up two eye catching wins on the opening weekend and both will be desperate to go again here. The blues showed their cutting edge to overcome Fulham, although defensive frailties also showed themselves too in West London. No such issues for Brighton, who thumped Aston Villa and who sit top of the Premier League table as a result. This will be all about Xabi Alonso though, with Chelsea primed for a first home win under him.
Chelsea to win 2-1
Leeds United vs Brentford @ Elland Road
Betting Tip: Leeds United to win the match @ $2.60

Leeds United ($2.60)
Brentford ($2.75)
Draw ($3.50)
Momentum is a funny thing in football and Leeds and Daniel Farke look to have it in spades at the moment. The whites are flying high and have signed some big players over the summer, making them a shout for a top half finish. Brentford are also in great nick, epitomised by big wins over Spurs in the league and Birmingham City in the cup. However, at Elland Road, Leeds are a force to be reckoned with, and they could come out on top here.
Leeds United to win 2-1
Manchester United vs Ipswich Town @ Old Trafford
Betting Tip: Manchester United to win the match @ $1.44

Manchester United ($1.44)
Ipswich Town ($7.50)
Draw ($5.00)
Manchester United’s pre-season bubble was quickly burst by Hull City last weekend, as the Red Devils chase yet more points against promoted teams, with Ipswich Town up next. Much was made of how United were going to mount a title challenge, but they were out fought and outgunned by the Tigers on the opening day. Ipswich have started the season brilliantly, but this feels like a tough one for them and United should pick up their first points of the season in this one.
Manchester United to win 3-0
Aston Villa vs Arsenal @ Villa Park
Betting Tip: Arsenal to win the match @ $1.55

Aston Villa ($6.50)
Arsenal ($1.55)
Draw ($4.33)
Champions Arsenal were imperious in overcoming Coventry City last time out and they will be chasing a repeat showing here against Aston Villa. The Villains have seen their side ripped apart over the summer and they were way off the pace in their opening game against Brighton. Arsenal meanwhile look to be raring to go and they will be bang up for this challenge in the West Midlands. This won’t be as easy as the odds suggest but Arsenal will win here.
Arsenal to win 3-0
