Premier League champions Liverpool have looked back to their best in recent games and their superb win at West Ham showed that the title race is far from over. Manchester City remain the team to beat at the top of the table and with Manchester United and Leicester City dropping points, the race is hotting up once more. Chelsea picked up their first win under Thomas Tuchel over Burnley whilst West Bromwich Albion and Fulham battled out an entertaining draw as the relegation scrap continues.
Here are our picks for the next round of fixtures in the Premier League:
EPL Week 22 Tips
Sheffield United vs West Bromwich Albion – Bramall Lane
Sheffield United ($1.93)
West Bromwich Albion ($4.75)
A classic relegation battle is on the cards at Bramall Lane as Sheffield United host West Bromwich Albion. The Blades picked up an impressive win at Manchester United before pushing Manchester City all the way last time out and they look to be picking up momentum in their survival bid. They sit 13 points from safety and look to have a big job on their hands, but they look to have belief in the camp currently. West Bromwich Albion meanwhile are a side improving under Sam Allardyce, but their survival bid also looks to be a tall order. They picked up a point against Fulham last time out and they will be all too aware that a win here could significantly improve their survival chances. Both sides need a result and with so much to play for a draw looks on the cards.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.75) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Wolves vs Arsenal – Molineux
Arsenal will be looking to put their improved form to the test as they travel to Wolves. The hosts have endured a poor run of form and their defeat on the road at Crystal Palace last time out has left them 14th in the table. Raul Jimenez has been a huge miss for Wolves, but they will be hoping to start picking up points quickly. Arsenal meanwhile are a side on the up and will have felt a little unlucky to have only managed a draw with Manchester United at the weekend. The Gunners were languishing in the bottom half of the table before Christmas, but recent performances have seen them climb easily away from trouble. They now sit 10th, only 5 points outside of the top 4 and they will be hoping to sustain their improved form for the remainder of the season. This should be a tight game with Arsenal good value to come out with all three points in the bag.
Betting tip: Arsenal to win the match ($2.24) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Arsenal to win 2-1
Manchester United vs Southampton – Old Trafford
Manchester United ($1.54)
Manchester United will be looking to get back to winning ways in the Premier League as they host Southampton. The Red Devils were sitting top of the table, but 1 point collected from their last two games against Sheffield United and Arsenal has seen them slip off the pace somewhat. Their home form has been good this season and they will be looking to get back into the groove here. Southampton meanwhile felt hard done by to lose to Aston Villa at the weekend and their performances of late haven’t been meriting the points return they deserve. This should be a good game between two good sides and whilst Southampton will make it difficult for Untied, the reds should prevail here.
Betting tip: Manchester United to win the match and both teams to score ($2.45) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Manchester United to win 3-1
Newcastle United vs Crystal Palace – St James’s Park
Newcastle United ($2.8)
Crystal Palace ($2.7)
Two sides looking to build on good results last time out face off as Newcastle United host Crystal Palace. The Toon were being dragged into a relegation scrap before their impressive win at Everton and they will be desperate to build on that here and improve on their league standing of 15th. Palace meanwhile sit one place above Newcastle heading into this one and their win over Wolves last time out could prove crucial in their survival bid. Roy Hodgson will want to see his side keep picking up points and they play some of their best stuff on the road. This is set to be a tight game and a draw looks the most likely result at St James’s Park.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.4) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Burnley vs Manchester City – Turf Moor
Manchester City ($1.24)
Table topping Manchester City travel to Burnley in what looks to be a big game in their title bid. Burnley have beaten Liverpool and Aston Villa in recent weeks but their defeat to Chelsea last time out was an indicator of how much work still needs to be done by Sean Dyche at Turf Moor. City meanwhile are purring and although their 1-0 win over Sheffield United was slow going at times, the blues are in good nick and the rest of the Premier League is starting to stand up and take note. Burnley never roll over, but City are an organised outfit full of confidence and they should pick up all three points here.
Betting tip: Manchester City to win the match to nil ($1.75) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Manchester City to win 2-0
Fulham vs Leicester City – Craven Cottage
Leicester City ($1.95)
Fulham will be looking to continue their survival bid as they travel to Leicester to take on a faltering Leicester City side. The Cottagers picked up a great point on the road at West Brom last time out and they have a habit of taking points off the big boys, having taken points from Leicester and Liverpool already this season. Leicester meanwhile are a side that need to keep picking up points to avoid slipping out of the title race. Their defeat to Leeds last time out was a concern and they will want to avoid a repeat of the combustion they endured last season. This could be a tighter game than many expect but Leicester should ultimately prevail here.
Betting tip: Leicester City to win the match ($1.95) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Leicester City to win 2-1
Leeds United vs Everton – Elland Road
Leeds United ($2.42)
Two of the most exciting sides in the division face off as Leeds host Everton. The Whites picked up a superb result at Leicester last time out but their inconsistency this season has hindered their progress at times. Goals are always on the menu when Leeds are in town and they will want to take the game to Everton here. The Toffees meanwhile were humbled by Newcastle last time out and they have been lacking form of late – particularly at Goodison Park. This should be compelling viewing between two sides that always want to get the ball down and play and a high-scoring draw looks on the cards.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.95) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Aston Villa vs West Ham United – Villa Park
Aston Villa ($2.25)
West Ham United ($3.5)
Two of the surprise packages of what has been an enthralling Premier League season face off as West Ham travel to Aston Villa. Villa produced a solid performance on the road to win at Southampton last time out and their league standing of 9th has been testament to their incredible campaign. West Ham meanwhile are flying even higher up in 5th and although they were well beaten by Liverpool in their last outing, it has been a superb season for David Moyes’s men. This should be a superb game and with both sides in good form, a draw looks likely.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.6) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Liverpool vs Brighton – Anfield
Premier League champions Liverpool look to be coming of age again this season and they will want to keep the pressure on the sides above them as they take on Brighton. The reds stuttered over Christmas but wins over Tottenham and West Ham have installed belief back into the camp. Brighton meanwhile produced a superb performance against Tottenham last time out and they look to be a side improving. They sit 17th however and they will see this as a free hit at Anfield but this could be a bridge too far and Liverpool should prevail comfortably at Anfield.
Betting tip: Liverpool to win the match ($1.36) – Bet @ Sportsbet
Liverpool to win 2-0
Tottenham vs Chelsea – Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
A classic Premier League encounter is on the cards as Tottenham host Chelsea. Spurs have lacked consistency in recent weeks and the absence of Harry Kane looks to have cost them form at a crucial moment within the campaign. They will see this as chance to get their season back on track and how Jose Mourinho would love to get one over his former employers. Chelsea meanwhile are adapting to life under Thomas Tuchel and their 2-0 win over Burnley last time out will fill fans with confidence heading into the second half of the season. The blues have work to do to get back into the title race, but they will be hoping to climb the table quickly. This will be enthralling viewing and a draw looks the most likely result between two good sides.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.5) – Bet @ Sportsbet
