Tottenham picked up a famous 2-0 victory on match day 25 to leave Jose Mourinho’s men 15 points behind rivals Manchester City at the top of the table. The blues survived a physical onslaught to beat West Bromwich Albion who dropped to the foot of the table whilst Swansea and Bournemouth bolstered their survival chances with famous wins over Arsenal and Chelsea respectively.
With the transfer window now closed, teams and their managers will have to settle with the squads they have for the remainder of the season.
Here are our picks for the twenty-sixth round of fixtures in the Premier League:
23:30 Burnley vs Manchester City – Turf Moor
Manchester City ($1.29)
Sean Dyche will be hoping his players can get back to winning ways as they welcome high-flying Manchester City to Turf Moor to kick off the Premier League weekend. City sit 15 points clear of the chasing pack in the table and need to keep winning to deter the teams following them whilst the Clarets have dropped to 8th after a remarkable start to the season. The Clarets have enjoyed an amazing first half of the season and sit 8th with only 13 games remaining and they have a remarkable 35 points to their name. They are however, without a win in their last 9 matches in all competitions and will need to arrest the slide quickly to remain in contention for the European places at the end of the season. Bouncing back from a defeat was always going to be the toughest test for Manchester City who have displayed real mental toughness in their last 4 games. With only 13 games to play, the Blues sit 15 points clear in the Premier League title race and are very much the team to catch with 68 points to their name.
Manchester City are looking very strong currently and Burnley’s performances of late haven’t been too inspiring.

Manchester City to win 2-0
02:00 Bournemouth vs Stoke City – Vitality Stadium
Stoke City ($4.5)
Paul Lambert takes his Stoke City to the South Coast in what promises to be a real basement battle. Stoke won their first game under Lambert’s stewardship at home to Huddersfield last time out whilst Bournemouth are unbeaten in their last 6 Premier League matches as Eddie Howe looks to engineer a route towards safety for the Cherries. The Cherries are in fine form in the Premier League and are unbeaten in their last 6 matches as they look to stretch away from the relegation zone. Their FA Cup defeat to Wigan is the only blotch on their copy book in 2018 as Eddie Howe’s men sit 10th in the table with 28 points – 6 points above the drop zone. With Mark Hughes’s tenure coming to an end earlier in the month, Paul Lambert was the surprise choice to replace the Welshman at the Bet 365 Stadium. The Potters currently sit 17th in the table, with 24 points from 25 games and are one point above the dreaded drop zone.
Stoke have been buoyed by the arrival of Paul Lambert and will be eager to pick up points on the road whilst Bournemouth will look to take the game to the Potters.
Betting tip: The match to end as a draw and both teams to score ($4.8) BET NOW
02:00 Brighton vs West Ham United – AMEX Stadium
West Ham United ($3.8)
Premier League survival is the order of the day at the AMEX Stadium with David Moyes taking his West Ham side to the South Coast in search of crucial points in the relegation scrap. Both sides are very much in the relegation picture and this promises to be real six-pointer between two closely matched sides. The Seagulls are being dragged into the relegation scrap after a bright start to the season. Chris Hughton’s men currently reside in 16th place and are only one point clear of the drop zone. They are winless in their last 6 Premier League matches although their 90th minute winner in the FA Cup against Middlesbrough could be a catalyst to better things in 2018. David Moyes has overseen a real transformation at the London Olympic Stadium and they have risen to 11th in the table but such is the congestion at the bottom of the table, they are only 4 points above the relegation places. They are unbeaten in their last 6 Premier League matches but their 2-0 FA Cup defeat to League One Wigan will be a concern for Moyes’s men.
David Moyes has made West Ham very hard to beat but with a few injuries, they could lack creativity against a Brighton side who should have confidence following their last minute winner in the cup.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw and both teams to score ($4.5) BET NOW
02:00 Leicester City vs Swansea City – King Power Stadium
Leicester City ($1.8)
Swansea City ($5.4)
Claude Puel will be hoping to keep his strong streak going as Leicester welcome Carlos Carvahal’s resurgent Swansea City to the King Power stadium. The Foxes have steered well clear of the relegation zone in recent weeks, a path that Swansea will be looking to replicate a path towards safety in the upcoming weeks too. Claude Puel has invigorated the Foxes this term and they have risen to 8th in the Premier League table. They are very much in with an outside chance of playing European football next season and with FA Cup progress secured, they can put all of their attention into improving their Premier League position. Carlos Carvahal has had an instant impact at the Liberty Stadium – only losing one of his 8 games in charge so far in all competitions. Their wins over Liverpool and Arsenal have instilled belief that they can steer clear of the relegation places this season – despite currently sitting in the bottom three.
Swansea are tough to beat under Carlos Carvahal but Leicester, with home support, look in good form.
Betting tip: Leicester City to win the game and both teams to score ($4.2) BET NOW
Leicester City to win 2-1
02:00 Manchester United vs Huddersfield Town – Old Trafford
Manchester United ($1.18)
Huddersfield Town ($23)
Manchester United have recruited very well in January as they have brought in Alexis Sanzhez from Arsenal to make him the highest paid player in the Premier League. Sanchez looks set to make his home debut against a Huddersfield side that have been struggling of late and are in danger of dropping ominously close to the relegation zone. The reds had been in great form in 2018, winning their 5 opening matches but their defeat to Tottenham last time out was a humbling one. With 53 points from 25 games they sit 2nd in the table – 15 points behind leaders Manchester City. The Terriers have struggled for form in recent weeks – with their only win in 2018 coming against Bolton in the FA Cup. They currently sit 16th, 1 point above the drop zone with 13 games of the season remaining. Manchester United will want to bounce back here and will be keen to put Huddersfield to bed as the Terriers have been struggling of late.

Manchester United to win 3-0
02:00 West Bromwich Albion vs Southampton – The Hawthorns
West Bromwich Albion ($2.54)
Yet another basement battle beckons at the Hawthorns as 19th faces 18th in the Premier League table. West Brom have started to find some form under Alan Pardew and they will be hoping it isn’t too little too late whilst the Saints in contrast, have had a very poor run under Mauricio Pellegrino and need results to change quickly to avoid a relegation scrap. It has taken longer than expected but Alan Pardew finally looks to have implemented his survival blueprint on the Baggies. Prior to playing losing against Manchester City, the Baggies were unbeaten in their last 4 matches in all competitions, and picked up only their third win of the season against Brighton in January. The Saints find themselves in the relegation zone with only 13 matches to go and need to arrest their slide. They are unbeaten in their last 5 matches in all competitions – including a 1-1 draw with Tottenham and their recent performances will give their manager and their fans hope of survival.
Both sides have improved lately and with so much at stake, it could be a real relegation hum-dinger.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw and both teams to score ($4.5) BET NOW
04:30 Arsenal vs Everton – Emirates Stadium
With progress to the Carabao Cup final secured, Arsenal look set to be able to concentrate on attempting to push towards the Premier League’s top 4 as they welcome Sam Allardyce’s Everton to the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners traded Alexis Sanchez for Henrikh Mkhitariyan in the January transfer window and will be hoping the Armenian can provide a creative spark to push them up the table. The doom and gloom at Arsenal is back following a midweek defeat to Swansea although a cup final in the bag, the end of the Alexis Sanchez saga and the arrival of Henrikh Mkitariyan could boost morale. The Gunners remain 6th – 8 points off the top 4 in the Premier League and have work to do to be playing Champions League football next term. Sam Allardyce hasn’t been able to continue the boost he initially gave the club when he arrived late in 2017. The Toffees are out of all cup competitions and sit 7th in the table with 13 games still to play – they are only 8 points above the relegation places however and will be feeling the need to get points on the board.
Everton won’t roll over under Sam Allardyce but Arsenal look confident currently and should win this match.

Arsenal to win 2-1
14.15 Crystal Palace vs Newcastle United – Selhurst Park
Crystal Palace ($2.06)
Newcastle United ($4.2)
Relegation is on the agenda at Selhurst Park as Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle travel to Roy Hodgson’s improving Eagles with both sides looking for points. With only 2 points and 2 places between the sides it promises to be an enthralling encounter between two very closely matched sides fighting for their lives. Palace have picked up 26 points in their opening 25 games under the stewardship of former England manager Roy Hodgson and have climbed to 13th place in the Premier League table as a result. They have only lost 3 of their last 14 matches in all competitions – including a gutsy 1-1 draw at West Ham last time out. The Toon have lacked consistency all season and as a result find themselves in 15th place in the Premier League table – 3 points above the dreaded drop zone and were knocked out of the FA Cup by Chelsea. 24 points from 25 games isn’t the return Rafa Benitez would have hoped for but with limited funds to spend and boardroom unrest plaguing the club, the Toon are currently prioritising Premier League safety.
Palace suffered a thumping at Arsenal last month but have bounced back and should win this one to steer clear of the Toon and the relegation zone.

Crystal Palace to win 2-1
03:30 Liverpool vs Tottenham – Anfield
Two teams very much in the European football shake up meet at Anfield on Sunday with revenge sure to be on the minds of Liverpool players and fans. The reds have struggled in recent weeks, following their win over Manchester City earlier in January but beat Huddersfield last time out. Spurs had a serious scare against League Two Newport County in the FA Cup and their form in recent weeks is sure to be a concern to Mauricio Pochettino but their 2-0 win over Manchester United in midweek could be a catalyst. The Reds had been in great form at the turn of the year but their 18 game unbeaten streak in all competitions came to an end at Swansea in the Premier League – a result compounded by a 3-2 home defeat to West Brom in the FA Cup. Jurgen Klopp has guided his men to 4th in the Premier League table, with 50 points from their opening 25 games and they have only lost three times in the league all season. Tottenham sit in 5th place in the Premier League, outside of the Champions League places on goal difference with 13 games still to play. Mauricio Pochettino’s men have 48 points from their opening 25 games and are unbeaten in their last 9 games in all competitions.
Both teams should put on a show at Anfield in what is a fascinating encounter on paper.
Betting tip: The match to be a draw and both teams to score ($4.6) BET NOW
20.00 Watford vs Chelsea – Vicarage Road
Monday Night Football plays host to a tasty London Derby as Antonio Conte’s Chelsea travel to Watford looking for crucial points in the race for Champions League football whilst Javi Gracia will be looking forward to his first home game in charge of the Hornets. The two teams shared a 4-2 classic at Stamford Bridge back in October, hopefully a sign of things to come in this one. Marco Silva had a fantastic start to the season with the Hornets but a barren run over the festive period ultimately cost the Portuguese manager his job and Javi Gracia has been brought in to steady the ship. Watford sit 11th in the table with 27 points but only have a 3 point gap between themselves and the relegation zone so need to start picking up points quickly. It has been yet another eventful week at the home of the Champions. Speculation continues to grow over the future of Antonio Conte as well as potential incomings at Stamford Bridge whilst they progressed in the FA Cup but fell in the Carabao Cup. The Blues sit 4th in the Premier League table with 50 points from their opening 25 games and with 13 games to go, have a 18 point deficit to claw back on Manchester City.
This should be a fascinating game between two attacking sides but Chelsea should have too much quality in key areas.
