Last week saw a change at the top of the Premier League as Manchester City regained top spot in the table – with hard fought wins over Everton and Arsenal. Liverpool faltered once more – drawing at West Ham and Tottenham beat Newcastle to propel themselves right back into the title shake-up. Elsewhere, Chelsea and Manchester United kept pace in the top 4 chase whilst Cardiff picked up a precious win in their quest for Premier League survival.
Here are our picks for the twenty-sixth round of fixtures in the Premier League:
Fulham vs Manchester United – Craven Cottage
Manchester United ($1.64)
The Premier League programme kicks off with a big game at both the top and bottom of the table. Fulham are very much in the relegation mix and currently find themselves 7 points from safety. With only 17 points and 4 wins to their name all season, the Cottagers will be eager to begin their survival push sooner rather than later. Manchester United have rocketed the table in recent weeks and are now in 5th place – 2 points off the top 4. The Red Devils are unbeaten under their new manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer and look to have more attacking threats and defensive stability. This should be an exciting match and one that United should come through in their top 4 pursuit.
Betting tip: Manchester United to win the match and both teams to score ($3.15) – BET NOW
Manchester United to win 3-1
Crystal Palace vs West Ham United – Selhurst Park
Crystal Palace ($2.12)
West Ham United ($3.5)
Selhurst Park will host an intriguing London Derby on Saturday afternoon as West Ham travel to Crystal Palace in what promises to be a real battle. The Eagles have found form of late and have climbed to 14th in the table – only 6 points behind their opponents here. West Ham have been inconsistent once again this season but Manuel Pellegrini will be delighted with his team’s showing against Liverpool last time out. The Hammers are 12th in the Premier League table and they will be eager to kick on during the second half of the season. With little to split the sides, this could be an entertaining draw in London.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw and both teams to score ($4.35) – BET NOW
Huddersfield Town vs Arsenal – John Smith’s Stadium
Huddersfield Town ($6)
Two sides needing points for differing reasons face off in West Yorkshire as Arsenal travel to Huddersfield. Bottom side Huddersfield continue to struggle – despite David Wagner being replaced by Jan Siewert in an attempt to pull away from the drop. The Terriers sit rock bottom of the Premier League table, with a 13 point gap between themselves and safety – they look consigned to the Championship this term. Arsenal find themselves in a real scrap for top 4 football and last week’s defeat to Manchester City has left them 6th in the table. Huddersfield will make life very difficult for the Gunners but Unai Emery’s men should come through this one unscathed.
Betting tip: Arsenal to win the match to nil ($2.75) – BET NOW
Arsenal to win 2-0
Liverpool vs Bournemouth – Anfield
Liverpool will be looking to get back to winning ways as they welcome Bournemouth to Anfield. The reds have slipped to second in the Premier League table – but have a game in hand on Manchester City above them. With only the Champions League and Premier League to play for, expectation is high at Anfield and they look well set to maintain their title charge this term. The Cherries have enjoyed an impressive campaign under the stewardship of Eddie Howe and they find themselves in 10th place in the Premier League table. Inconsistency has blighted their season but they continue to impress – particularly against the bigger teams. Bournemouth possess plenty of outlets to trouble Liverpool but the Reds will want to keep up their title push and should come through this one in front of their home fans.
Betting tip: Liverpool to win the match and both teams to score ($2) – BET NOW
Liverpool to win 4-2
Southampton vs Cardiff City – St Mary’s Stadium
Cardiff City ($5)
Cardiff will be looking to continue their survival bid in light of the Emiliano Sala tragedy as they take on Southampton. Ralph Hasenhüttl has enjoyed an instant impact with the Saints but they are still only two points clear of the dreaded drop zone – with today’s opponents Cardiff the side in 18th. The bluebirds impressed last week in their 2-0 home win over Bournemouth and they have battled well all season and won’t go down without a fight. This is a classic relegation six pointer – with only 2 points and 2 places separating the teams and it could well end up a draw on the South Coast.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw and both teams to score ($5) – BET NOW
Watford vs Everton – Vicarage Road
Marco Silva makes his return to Watford as Everton manager in what promises to be a cracker in North London. Watford sit 8th in the table and Silva’s replacement Javi Gracia, has overseen a transformation at Vicarage Road – particularly defensively and they will be eager to remain in the top half come the end of the season. Everton have lost their last two games and as a result have slipped to 9th in the Premier League table. Goals have been flying in at both ends for the toffees and they will be keen to start putting a run together to climb the table. Goals look guaranteed here between two closely matched teams.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw and both teams to score ($4.15) – BET NOW
Brighton vs Burnley – AMEX Stadium
Burnley’s survival bid continues as they travel South to take on Brighton at the AMEX Stadium. Brighton are currently 13th in the table and look well set for another season in the Premier League under the stewardship of Chris Hughton following an impressive campaign. The Clarets have clambered away from relegation trouble in recent weeks but still find themselves in 17th place – only two points above the drop zone – following their draw with fellow strugglers Southampton last time out. This should be a tight game with both sides known for their defensive stability and it could well end up honours even.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.3) – BET NOW
Tottenham vs Leicester City – Wembley Stadium
Leicester City ($5.65)
Super Sunday kicks off with what should be a belter of a tie between Tottenham and Leicester City. Tottenham have showed real resolve in their last two games – beating Watford and Newcastle and they only sit 5 points behind Manchester City and Liverpool at the top of the table. Leicester have endured an inconsistent season – which is reflected by their league standing of 11th. They will be hoping to start picking up points more regularly as they eye a top half finish under Claude Puel. Leicester will push Tottenham all the way but Spurs have plenty of quality and should get the job done in front of their home fans here.
Betting tip: Tottenham to win the match and both teams to score ($2.9) – BET NOW
Tottenham to win 2-1
Manchester City vs Chelsea – Etihad Stadium
Manchester City ($1.53)
Super Sunday concludes with a potential classic between Manchester City and Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium. City have gone back to the top of the Premier League with 2 wins in a week over Arsenal and Everton but Liverpool do have a game in hand on them. They continue to fight on four fronts this term and will be hoping to maintain a run in all 4 competitions for as long as possible. Chelsea have lacked consistency this term but played well against Huddersfield last time out – winning 5-0. Maurizio Sarri’s position as manager has been scrutinized this season and the Italian will be hoping to do the league double over City. Chelsea have struggled in the road in big games this season and City could have too much for them in key areas.
Betting tip: Manchester City to win the match and both teams to score ($2.75) – BET NOW
Manchester City to win 2-1
Wolves vs Newcastle United – Molineux
Newcastle United ($5.75)
Monday Night Football promises to be a real battle between high-flying Wolves and Newcastle. Wanderers continued their impressive Premier League form with a stunning 3-1 win at Everton last time out and they sit in 7th, 4 points above the chasing pack below them. Newcastle are 15th in the table – only 2 points above the bottom three and despite flashes of brilliance – they can’t seem to pull away from relegation trouble indefinitely. Newcastle will make life tough for Wolves but in front of their home fans, Wolves should come through this one and pile the pressure on the Toon.
Betting tip: Wolves to win the match ($1.73) – BET NOW
Wolves to win 2-0
